Frustrated with Mimics not being detected

What is the secret? I use the scope, about 30% of the time, it will ID a mimic, (I've scanned them the full 5 times) the rest of the time, they still jump out at me.

I want consistency - and either I'm missing something or I just need to get used to getting hit by mimics all the time.

the scanning can be finicky but you will need to get closer since mimics are smaller than phantoms or weavers

Mimic detection has a slight delay and it tends to be more reliable closer to the center of the reticle. It also can't detect greater mimics without the better chip. If you're on the move, you're less likely to ID a disguised mimic.

There are chipset to improve the scans, like Farscan or speedscan. Try it.

Also remember: when you see things twice, the chance it is a mimic is big.
