Prey 2017 is underrated
Hey guys, I wanted to ask you, if you think that prey is underrated. Because I think that it is. This game is a masterpiece nobody knows about, I still remember when I first saw a video of it, I knew nothing about the game and my mind was blown in the first few minutes of the game. Sadly nobody rly knows about this game, which is very sad.

Agreed. It doesn't show well, so is easy to downgrade, but is a solid game.

The problem it's too much for the average gamer. I've seen streams where people play this game, say they love it, but get destroyed on easy, then don't touch it after a while or never. It's hard to get into immersive sims. They throw a bunch of stuff at you telling you good luck and first timers are confused. I admit It took me like 3 to 4 times to get into similar games like System Shock 2 and Deus Ex and I love them!

It is underrated by a long shot. The start is a bit slow if you are used to hand holding, but it was most likely intended. ;)

The game asks too much from a casual audience who most likely only play mindless shooters which unfortunately seems to be the most important player base according to big greedy game companies. Immersive sims are niche for the most part nowadays because the market would rather crap out copy and paste games with no risk involved for max profit. This really could be said about the music and movie industry as well. Mediocrity everywhere!

Game is a damn masterpiece. I can see why people bounce off it initially though, it's pretty punishing early on compared with most games.
It's bizzare how everyone liked Dishonored, yet they overlooked Prey. It's pretty much the same game in terms of mechanics, but with a different thematic content. I have absolutely no grudge about this game except that therer's no save feature for the dlc - this sucks badly.

Anyway, in terms of artistic execution, the game is superb - anyone with a minimum knowledge and experience would recognize and appreciate it.
Well in a way it's like a well kept secret, a guilty pleasure if you like.
Consider yourself one of the lucky ones to appreciate this gem.

My friend convinced me to play it and i really like it. I'm having fun. but some mods could potentially fix some issues i have (zooming in gets worse late game because of visual effect)
