Not more to it. Get the neurmod that gives +20% recycle gain.
At the end of the game i had 300+ ammo for the shotgun and 30 full charges for the Q-Beam and Stun Gun. Plus over a 100 in every material group still. That was after crafting nearly 50 Neuromods during the game.
If you explore every region and pick up everything its really hard to run out of stuff unless you need 20 shot for each enemy.
Also get hacking 3 as early as possible, so many rooms and safes with stuff.
Food = Bio matter.
But in all honesty you can save on ammo by combining weapons and abilities. For instance try using turrets in combination with the stun gun and gloogun. Disable enemies in front of turrets and the turrets deal the dmg.
I really need to start using that tactic. Mainly when I use turrets, I just jump in front of the aliens and shout "Look at me!!" while dodging in and out of cover and getting smacked in the face. Still works, but I need to backtrack to operators a lot.
Just remember stunned and glooed enemies take extra dmg. So using stuns or gloo with your firearms should decrease the amount of ammo you need to use to kill them. Mimics and Corruped Operators are fairly easy to dispose of via wrench which can save on ammo a lot as well.
Also the bowcaster is great for taking out crsylids and distracting Phantoms.
Bowcaster is actually useful? I seriously thought it was a joke weapon.. lmfao
It is also your sequence break weapon. Tons of places you can get into using the bow to shoot panels or buttons.
I saw this trick somewhere on Youtube, I dont take credit for it. Follow it for great gains:
1. Find a large room with lots of furniture and crates.
2. Pile everything that can be moved into one big pile.
3. Toss Recycle charge at the pile.
4. Win
General tips: Necropsy and Materials Expert should be taken as soon as possible. You can also get similar talent for spare parts when killing mechanical enemies, which will help with spare parts--you can eventually recycle those later in the game when you have lots of those.
But if we're being honest, I've reloaded more than once if I think I played a fight badly, so I'm not one to judge
Are there any less obvious sources for minerals, other than weapons & junk? I've even tried using the recycler chamber in the hardware lab, but filling it with furniture & appliances yields very little.
I recycled many suit repair and weapon upgrade kits. Those give decent amounts of materials.
Also all the grenades exept Recycler ones. Also try to limit yourself to 2-3 weapons and recycle all the other ones and spare ammo you can find.
I never had any problems with running out of mineral material that way.
