DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG crash to desktop

Any ideas on how to fix this error? I have just tried removing my graphics drivers and reinstalling them, but still getting this issue.

I get the DXGI Error device reset. Could be on their end since MWO had this issue, and went away with a patch.

I've just installed the directX found in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Prey\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe

Will see how that goes.

Could be an overclocking problem.

I changed AA from SMAA X2 to FMAA, and it seems to have stopped the crashes. No idea what was causing them though.

What hardware you got?

I have an i5-2500k@4ghz and a gtx 780 ghz edition card, so I guess maybe the factory overclock might be the problem.

I just had a look at the documentation for the DXGI library:

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
0x887A0006
The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.

I guess this is an issue with the game. Let me know if you want me to get any logs bethesda. ;).

I would probably send it to them. Doubt they are on the steam forums.

I doubt they do either, other than Jess posting stickies. I would send them logs, or even look at them myself if I knew where they are, but I doubt they care about this problem that doesn't seem to be plaguing many users.
