Do turrets always get destroyed after leaving an area?
Seems kinda lame, seeing how it takes so many parts to fortify them. I put 4 turrets on the roof in Abotreium or whatever the name is, now when I leave it they gonna get rekt, even though I invested 24 parts and there is no way in hell they get broken by Typhons with that positioning.

No, they don't. May be they glitched in your case or a nightmare went on a rampage (which is highly unlikely). In my case, I got wrecked a several by the fortifications I had made early in the game and later returned with all my typhon neuromods. So I know they don't break

I've noticed the same thing. No matter where I put them, 99 times out of 100 when I come back to the area they're in, they're destroyed. Have had it happen in all game areas.

Happens almost exclusively when I leave them deployed, but there have been some that were packed up when I left, and wrecked when I came back.

So would be nice if a dev could answer that. Seems weird that rooftops and all still they get broken.

Easy fix. Before you leave an area just fold up your turrets and stash them in a storeroom or security booth where they will be safe and sound upon your return. Do not leave them active.

I've come back and had ones that were packed up be broken. Rarely, but it has happened.

Even if that was a fix it would kinda suck, because ideally you'd leave them to guard an area, so when/if you come back and there are enemies around, they're useful. They die quickly enough anyway, even fortified.

I've found that the phantom's mental blast can take them down a bit too quickly (even when fortified). It also (the blast) seems to have a wide hitbox or small AOE, where the turret just spams bullets. Meaning Phantoms can damage turrets from angles where turrets can't damage phantoms.

That said, when you aren't in the area it's a moot point because I imagine it's all simulated (out of area activity) and just a matter of chance what happens.

They need to buff the turrets imo. Make them use less spare parts after the original repair/ fortify or something.

I'd like to see upgrades for turrets, beam weapons instead of bullets, etc.

Honestly though, I can't even guard the damn lift. Had a weaver, tons of cystoids and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare waiting for me to exit the lift in the lobby. Can't even shoot during the exit.... I kinda hoped I could leave them fortified so that I can at least enter the zone without having me insides plastered all over the wall.

for me they break only 50% of the time and fix again if i reload a lot

I was rather disappointed with the turrets. I went pretty heavy into engineering early on and set up a lot of turrets. They rarely survived any situation where there was anything with greater offensive capability than a mimic, even fortified, and if I wasn't in the area they were inevitably broken when I came back. I'd try to set them up in the rare areas where the enemy had to come from one direction, like the shuttle bay entrance and other area transitions, and have them back each other up and they couldn't even handle that.

They really just seem to be there to add a little damage and be a distraction till they die, but that makes them a liability in most areas as I'd rather just get a jump on unaware enemies instead at that rate. Its certainly not worth moving them around a level.

They only proved their worth to me once...

The first time I entered Hardware labs I cleared out all the enemies, fixed up all the turrets, fortified the turrets, and deployed them in good positions. I left and immedinatly right back in and the whole area was filled with Typhon enemies again, and all of my turrets were destroyed. All in less than 1 second game time.

I constantly come back to areas to find my turrets instnatly broken, despite how long I've been gone or how fortified they've been. They are absoluetly unreliable in securing a location for leaving and coming back to. They seem only usefull for using at that moment in time, not constant protection coming in and out of that area.

They also tip over way to easy. I hate seeing my full health, freshly fortified turret open fire on an enemy, for the enemy to flick it and knock it over rendering it useless. No matter how much health or firepower the turret has, once it's knocked over it's done. And they knock over incredibly easy. Fortifying turrets seems like an absolute waste of spare parts and skill points, as they still break easy, break instantly when coming back to areas, and knock over after one hit. If there's any kind fo buff they should recieve it's a little more health, but more importantly made harder to knock over.

Iv'e found turrents to be prity usefull my only real complaint is that they seem to be made of paper and when a blast hits them they fly away.
They should have a lot more weight to them so only things like poltergiests and thermal phantoms should be able to uproot them not a psyc blast from a phantom.
But they seem to do the job if they have a long line of sight and you tagteam whatever your up against.

You know, you'd think Doctor Yu would have the brains and engineering knowhow by lvl 3 to bolt the damn things to the ground...
