Location of currently used wheel settings (G27) .xml file?
I remember being able to tweak the .xml files of the X360 controller to make it more reactive but I don't really remember how exactly I did back then, I remember needing to make the controller profile Read-only but don't remember which one to change. I can't find the current profile for my G27 in the games files (profile that saves my changes in-game). I can only find Default settings but changing that doesn't work, the profiles are in SteamApps\common\Need For Speed Shift 2\ControllerDefaults\PC

I believe you need to change vehicleset_pc_custom_pad.xml
Edit : Sorry, that's not the correct file for the steering wheel config but it works for controllers.

Now I remember how I did I used x360ce to emulate a X360 controller with my different joystick (RC simulation controller) and used the default X360 controller file inside SteamApps\common\Need For Speed Shift 2\ControllerDefaults\PC to do the tweaks.

But I can't find a way to do the same with a wheel

Have you tried modifying the vehicleset_pc_custom_wheel.xml file?

Yes I tried but had no effect in-game

When using that file you have to select the custom wheel controller setup in game and manually assign buttons to your wheel and pedals. Hopefully that will work for you. On another note I used to play Shift 2 a couple of years ago on Origin and I remember having the same control issues with it before. I have since uninstalled it so I don't have my old config files to reference and I just assumed that switching dampeningenabled to "0" fixed the problem however after many adjustments to the in-game steering sensitivity and deadzone I have yet to find a setup that feels right. I can play the game but the steering just doesn't feel right. The only thing I can recommend is playing with the sensitivity and deadzone in game and possibly changing some settings in the Logitech program for your wheel. I don't have a wheel but I have heard of some people changing how many times you have to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. I think most wheels are 900 degrees of rotation so maybe try lowering it to see if that helps.

Sorry for the necro, but I've been working on this for 3 hours with no luck.

I'm using a G920, which the game has no native support for, and its working okay, except for the H-Shifter being all messed up. The button numbers between the old G25/27 are all messed up. I've edited the vehicleset_pc file for the G25, but it is not working. It seems like the game has an ini or xml file somewhere else that it is storing it's current keybinds to. I've scoured my entire PC, I can't find anything.

If anyone has learned how to use a modern H-Shifter with this game, let me know. Thanks.
