Warning - beware of changing Origin password after installation of this game

EA has removed the password changer from within the game. This means that should you forget your Origin password and have to reset it, you will not be able to continue using Autolog or online features with your existing saved game.

EA's response (link below) is basically that unless you can remember your old Origin password, you need to delete your saved game and lose any progress.

Thanks a fkin bunch. Why they would remove the ability to update password within the game i have no idea. Oh of course, to encourage people to write them down / re-use / make trivial... <facepalm> What's next, remove the password reset from Origin altogether, since resetting password effectively will soon mean creating a new account from scratch anyways... /rant.

Unsurprisingly, launching after deleting your saved game will allow you to simply enter your new login details, reset or change password/email or just about any other option you might have wanted to do without deleting many days of gameplay. Bah.

You are right; I had the same issue and had to start from scratch. Another issue with this game is if you are a geek like me and often reformatt or upgrade you will run out of activations. Fortunatly by contacting EA support they will give you more activations; I just did this using online chat and the whole process took about 10 minutes.

Wow what a mess - limited activations, i was just about to buy the game aswell - once again DRM activation limits do no help stop piracy it only makes things arbitrary and needles task for the legit customer

I remember my old password, but can't change back to it because it doesn't meet the current password guidelines.... Guess I'm screwed... Nice work EA!
