My copy finally bit the dust (Solved!)

Playing this game seem harder and harder as years go by. I can no longer start the game as launching just turns the screen black for a few seconds then quits inmediately. Anyone got a solution to this problem?

Yes. You need to have a DirectX 9.0c compatible video card first of all
- you need to update directx, update your video card from the official website.
-do a clean Shift 2 unleashed install

I have had this problem after uninstalling the Nvidia Physx from Clontrol Pannel. If you did that as well, you need to download DDU Uninstaller, uninstall your nvidia driver in safe mode, install the latest gpu driver from official website and reinstall the game( the game will reinstall physx )

My specs are:
i7 4790k
GTX 1050 Ti
16 GB Ram
480 GB SSD

I've reinstalled Shift 2 a couple of times with no avail. The problem stays the same
My NVIDIA drivers are up to date.
The only solution I can think of is a fresh Windows install, but it's overkill

Finally got it to work. Turns out you need to have installed (and activated) the .NET Framework 3.5 feature that is hidden within the "Turn Windows features on or off" option. After enabling it, game worked without issues.

Also, to all players, remember to always deauthorize your license if you're migrating to a new PC since it will count towards your activation limit. I reached it with this install and had to download a cracked SHIFT2U.exe to bypass the activation.exe!

You need to speak with EA about your activation limit. I had the same problem and they removed the limit for me

This game now runs good through Proton using the Steam Deck, although mirror reflections does not seem to work
