Shift 2 Unleashed

Shift 2 Unleashed

worst racing game ever !!!
This game is the badest racing game ever. The handling is so weak and strange. The cars physics feels like driving a boat on pudding. never played such an unprecise racing game before and i can´t believe that are people out there who like this crap. Shift 1 was way better. Shift unleashed is bad on all platforms. i´m having it for ps3 and pc and xbox360 and i can say it feels like ♥♥♥♥ an alls platforms. I know what i´m talking about. I´m active in sim racing since 2004 and played almost every racing game from arcade to sim titles and this game is one of the worst games i´ve ever played. It isn´t worth a penny...

You should say the same thing in 2008. As in this day, i still play this game and is awaysome for me.
Dont come with that comment of yours, now in 2017.. 9 years later when ofc there are some great titles of sim games.

Tell me that this Game Play is not ok.

In 2008 this game was the bomb for me at least. And for many more like me i bet. Yes is a bit unreal on the handling side but Comeon man, your post is kinda stupid to be honest.

All the best for you man. Cheers

there were much better games/sims out there before this one came out. Gtr, Gtr2, Race07, rfactor an so on and on.. in this video you can see how floaty the handling of the cars is no matter if you use a pad or a wheel. yes you can adapt and might have fun with this kind of controls but if you are used to real sims and other quality racing games you will get a strange feeling with this weird physics model. it feels like ea didn´t gave slightly mad studios enough time to finish the game. the handling in shift 1 was way better. on pc it´s at least a little bit more playable compared to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 30 fps console versions. forums were full with "strange handling" and "bad physics" - threads when this game came out. It was so bad, that some people made handling mods which made it a little bit better.

Shift 1 was better.
The second shift has such huge input lag its near impossible to enjoy

Badest? You meant worst?

Not in my opinion. It's just you don't have any patience to comprehend the physics.

This is from my gameplay.

I recommend to mute the volume.

i don´t have time to play arcady ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with dysfunctional physics and steering ;) Play some Dirt Rally, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista, Rfactor2, GT Legends etc, than you will learn what the word SIM means. I raced for 6 years in a racing leaque and this piece of ♥♥♥♥ is definately not a racing sim. Everyone in the real simracing community laughs about that travesty of a racing game. it fails as a arcade racer and as a simulator. I can´t believe that there are idiots out there who thinking this is a sim just because of ea´s ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ marketing. it is an unfinished buggy joke nothing more nothing less. Have you ever driven a real car ?

Yes I have and I'm not saying this is a sim. Ofc I have tried AC and Dirt Rally. Shift 2 has its own characteristic which made me interested for playing it.

I have just purchased this game as a entry game into this genre but it seems I may have tripped up. Could you recommend a racing game wir a good learning curb for a beginner. I have tried f1 2015 and didnt like being bumped out of the race from behind then lack flagged. Thanks

In my opinion Jomaykas13, Shift 2 Unleashed should be alright for you. All the Driver Assists this game has should work just fine for a keyboard if you dont have a wheel.
Other new games dont have driveing assists so it will be even harder for you to handle the cars.

Cheers man

Thanks for the heads up. I am gonna give it a shot just got a little put off by the OP and more but in hindsight it maybe not enough of a challenge for the folk that have race SIM experience.thanks again

Thank you #sarevok I will be playing shift 2 slot more now as I have asked for support from Devs and it's fell on deaf ears. Shift 2 is very enjoyable anyway as you say so I don't really know why I have bothered pcars tbh. Thanks again

This game is 40% track experience 40% car setup and 20% driving skills
if not you know how to setup all menu stuff correctly and the car's then you are screwed big time

Even when compared to its contemporaries, this game has a lot of problems. The handling (even with proper driving technique and logical car set-ups) is pretty floaty and you get no real feeling of grip like you would get in other titles of a similar class that came out at the same time (F1 2011, Forza 4, etc).

I gave this game a honest try and even if I could look past the crashing, the obnoxious tone, and the AI that would rather play bumper-cars than race, the handling is still very, very sketchy and it never really got fixed. When I compare this game to other titles in its class ("simcade" for lack of a better term), it is difficult to feel good about it or even want to play it.

It is unfortunate that the handling issues were never really addressed. The car selection is not all that bad and the tracks are generally okay.

Exactly when and where, was the last time, you drove a boat on pudding, in order to have a real basis in experience from which you can make your comparison?

Did you do any testing on the effects of different FLAVORED pudding? Do you have any data which validates your conclusion - which has come from direct testing performed with tapioca, rice, or bread pudding variations?

How can we be certain that you really are an expert in the field of driving boats on pudding? Do you have an advanced degree in the field or extensive experience as a professional pudding race-boat driver perhaps?

Fair questions? Right? :steamhappy:

I'm just bored atm. Maybe a good racing game would help . . .

Slightly Mad definitely upped their development game with PCARS. I have all three on Xbox consoles. Shift 1 was too floaty to even control the car (especially stock loadout). Shift 2 was better but same issue although less floaty and less AI wacky aggro. EA needs to let this game experience a sale so a community, even if small, can enjoy SMS early attempt at sim racing. I never get a wishlist alert for this game.
