Mods for Sims?

Hey can anyone tell me how to download Mods from Mods for Sims.com...... thanks, this would be really appriciated, I'm really bad with anything that relates to technology.

Make sure you back up your game and keep update on some mods you download because patches can really screw up the game with the mods downloaded.

Hey im a noob modder at the sims and can any 1 give me a good list of instructions for backing up installing and running Twallans mods such as master controller? I have Island paradise base game obviously generations seasons pets supernatural and will get University if the DLC has anything to do with it.

To back up your saves/configuration/custom content:

• Go to your Documents directory.
  
• Right-click the folder named "The Sims 3".
  
• Choose "copy".
  
• Then paste the directory somewhere.
  
• (optional) Rename it so you know what it is. I usually use something like "Backup TS3 - DATE", where date is the date I made the backup.

To get your game ready for Mods:

• Go into your Documents folder.
  
• Open the "The Sims 3" folder.
  
• Make a new folder in there called "Mods". (important) It has to be named "Mods".
  
• Get a copy of a Resource.cfg file. Here's one from ModTheSims that you can download: http://skuld.modthesims.info/Resource.cfg
  
• Place that copy of Resource.cfg in the "Mods" directory you just made.

To install Twallan's MasterController:

• Go to the NRaas site: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/
  
• Look down the left-hand side for MasterController and click that link.
  
• Under "Versions" check the "Patch Level" next to the "Base-Mod" entry -- ensure your game is patched to at least this level (see next section).
  
• If/once your game is patched to the version for the Base-Mod, click the "Base-Mod" link.
  
• Scroll to the bottom where it says "Files"
  
• Click the "Download" link under the area that reads "NRaas_MasterController_V119.zip" (or whathaveyou).
  
• Open that Zip file. The internal file should be something like, "NRaas_MasterController.package".
  
• Copy that internal package file into the "Mods" directory you made in the last section.

Checking your patch level:

• Start The Sims 3.
  
• In the Launcher, look at the bottom of the left-hand panel.
  
• It should read "Version" there, and on the next line have a long number -- you're interested in the first three numbers. E.g., version 1.55.4.022037 is patch level 1.55.

I don't remember Sims having guns or weapons... o.o

I don't know anything about a Gun Mod, but really, anything that is a .package should be able to be placed in that Mods folder to modify the game (in theory).

Some of my favorites are the NRaas ones, and all the goth stuff at Club Crymson[club-crimsyn.dreamwidth.org]. :-)

Well I dont know if i should risk damaging my pc I mean, if you know anyone who has install some of the Nraas mods without damage let me know I learned mods can damage your backup of the game as well so idk if I should risk it.

ok, backed up and installed the frameworks crap to allow custom content and no intro and no sparkles ( which idk what it does) packages. Ive heard master controller can add alien dna percentage and can i make my werewolf young adult have alien dna?

Dunno -- I don't use MasterController, but I do use NRaas's Decensor and Overwatch. Not only did they not destroy my game or PC, but Overwatch significantly improved my TS3 performance by cleaning up abandoned cars, stuck and unroutable Sims, and so on.

modthesims has guns for download, you can pocket them, display them, change ammo types, and kill other sims or yourself. I shot a robber today myself...felt good

Do you think i'd be a good guy? My sim owns every buiness in town, I can do whatever I want, I have friend of the kraken LTR so... Besides I saw the gun mod said it was only proven to work with patch 1.47 or something and I have 1.55. I was wondering what happens if i have mods on and EA updates or I buy a new expansion?
