[Solved] Computer Whiz + Genius = Hacking Bonus?

According to a few sources, the Genius trait increases the efficiency of hacking within the game (Computer Whiz trait is required to hack), by reducing the amount of time between payments (allegedly it becomes 20 minutes, down from the normal 30 minutes).

However, I have never been able to replicate and confirm this. Regardless of traits, skills, etc., my hacking payments are always paid out in 30 minute intervals.

Is anyone actually able to confirm if the Genius trait affects hacking or not?

It reduces the intervals from 30 to 20 minutes, and you can learn the hidden skills for hacking faster.

Yes, yes. I've read the wiki and multiple other sources. They all state the same thing, yet it does not coincide with my personal experience. Are you able to personally confirm what you say, or are you simply repeating what you've read?

However, looking at your post history, it seems you're deliberately unhelpful. I suppose I'll wait for another response.

I've been testing it and I believe I've figured it out. The Genius trait does NOT affect hacking, at all, at least from my personal experience. However, there's something that does.

I used the public library computers to do some hacking, and I realized I was getting very slow payments (~50 minutes). I also noted that the library had very cheap computers. After purchasing the most expensive computer available (a laptop worth $5000), my hack times were reduced to 14-15 minutes.

I tested it numerous times, with and without the Genius trait, which made no difference either way. Thus, my conclusion, in order to improve hack times, get a better computer. :)

Yet pretty much all of it has been true....
