The Sims™ 3

Total cost of all DLC and store content
I ran the numbers. I went to the Sims 3 store and searched for "*" and got 3190 results. I took the average of the first 50 results and it came to 233.5 simpoints. A simpoint is worth 10 cents. So everything on the Sims 3 store costs approximately $74,486.50. As for DLC/the game itself, the total is $439.81. So grand total, you're looking at $74,926.31 to own everything the Sims 3 has to offer. Start saving those pennies!

I won't be at all suprised if they do the exact same thing with th Sims 4. Maybe even more so.

Toddlers and Pool building have been removed from the Sims 4 main game.

Oh and they're talking about adding on a $100 monthly/yearly (I forget which) fee in order to get the expansion packs for it. So yeah, ♥♥♥♥ Sims 4, I'll stick with 3.

Thanks EA, you greedy ♥♥♥♥♥.

The yearly payment is pretty much and early access/season pass where you can get the expansions early, and for a better price, not to just be able to get the expansions.

Wow I'm going to be honest I don't follow a lot of this sims related news other than watching Curtis Pardy (probably spelled that wrong) but that just sound like they're being money grubbing D-bags. I know this is on there forum and if I get banned I wouldn't give a ♥♥♥♥ but damn they love to ♥♥♥♥ on their customers.

Once again, it's not to get the DLC, it's basically an early access/season pass thing where you can get the expansions early, and at a lower price.

the store content is available for free thankfully

the only expansion packs worth buying are world adventures, ambitions, late night and pets.

..when on sale. i got all 4 for 15 bucks. steam ftw.
The store content is free now? At the time I made my calculations, they were still using simpoints and it was definitely not free.

I think he was encouraging piracy.
Which obviously is a very bad idea.

Season passes usually cost a one-time fee of $20 or so and are an inherently greedy practice to begin with (for gaming). I can't see why you are defending EA on this, Nemo. The sims 3 came out in 2009. 5 years of a season pass would cost $500 plus at least $60 for the game (thanks EA for making games cost $10 more, BTW).

How is that not greedy?

I never said it wasn't greedy. I hate the idea of season, and early access passes, I also hate EA for ruining a game that could be a load of fun. But what you said is TOTALLY different compared to the truth.

You said, " they're talking about adding on a $100 monthly/yearly (I forget which) fee in order to get the expansion packs for it,"

In which I was pointing out that you were misinformed and that you don't need to pay any extra fees to get any of the expansion packs. A season pass, as I said in my first comment, is to get any of a games future expansions for a lower price, as long as you pay for the pass. It is NOT purchased to be able to purchase expansion packs.

I didn't say this:
" they're talking about adding on a $100 monthly/yearly (I forget which) fee in order to get the expansion packs for it,"
CafeMan - β #169 did.
The reason I assumed you were defending EA is because you didn't rebut any of Cafeman's statements. I think Cafeman knew that you could buy the expansion packs separately, as did I. He was objecting to the rumored $100 a year price of the season pass and the missing features. EA has already done many unimaginably greedy things and that is enough to make me avoid buying games from them. I'm sure others feel the same way and would rather give their money to someone who didn't win "worst company of the year"[consumerist.com] twice in a row.

Yeah man EA sucks balls. I remember a time when The Sims 3 came out and I was excited, and then I realized how sucky EA is and decided not to get it. They need to get their ♥♥♥♥ together XD

The store content costs WAY too much. Anyone want to update the price totals though?
レフト 2014 年 9 月 12 日 上午 1:13
Yeah, the store content does go a little out of hand. Memory wise, we're talking content that actually rivals the game itself and all its expansions+stuff packs.

Its really absurd when you add the actual cost to the equation. I would actaully be interested in seeing numbers myself, this is actaully really impressive on EA's part.

ccrusher1 2014 年 9 月 14 日 上午 11:49
Yeah. I mean, you can tell they're not trying to make it so everyone can get every single thing from the store. I feel like the higher prices are because EA wants people to get a few of the store items, then inform their friends about it so the friends also buy it. That way it keeps each and every game unique, while allowing EA to make money.

When the sims 3 first came out if you bought the game+all DLC it cost over 1000$ just for the base product. And it barely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ works on PC unless you have an insanely powerful Computer.

My system is well capable of handling whatever the game can throw at it... they just didn't work too much on how the game handles all the information.

For me, it was simple... Waited for Humble Bungle's EA event... bought many games out of it (including Sims 3 + 3 expansions) for a total of 16 bucks. Manually toggle the division of the paiement so that EA gets around 0.50$ out of that 16$. I don't plan to buy any additionnal DLC.

That's how I played it :P
tricksy_rabbit 2015 年 2 月 5 日 下午 5:12
The figure you came up with for the store items is absolute nonsense. A simpoint is NOT worth 10 cents and it never has been. 1,000 simpoints cost $10, meaning one simpoint is worth ONE cent. Your figure of $74,486.50 is at least 10 times higher than anything that's even remotely realistic.
I would buy the eps only not the stuff packs.
