The yearly payment is pretty much and early access/season pass where you can get the expansions early, and for a better price, not to just be able to get the expansions.
Once again, it's not to get the DLC, it's basically an early access/season pass thing where you can get the expansions early, and at a lower price.
I think he was encouraging piracy.
Which obviously is a very bad idea.
How is that not greedy?
You said, " they're talking about adding on a $100 monthly/yearly (I forget which) fee in order to get the expansion packs for it,"
In which I was pointing out that you were misinformed and that you don't need to pay any extra fees to get any of the expansion packs. A season pass, as I said in my first comment, is to get any of a games future expansions for a lower price, as long as you pay for the pass. It is NOT purchased to be able to purchase expansion packs.
" they're talking about adding on a $100 monthly/yearly (I forget which) fee in order to get the expansion packs for it,"
CafeMan - β #169 did.
The reason I assumed you were defending EA is because you didn't rebut any of Cafeman's statements. I think Cafeman knew that you could buy the expansion packs separately, as did I. He was objecting to the rumored $100 a year price of the season pass and the missing features. EA has already done many unimaginably greedy things and that is enough to make me avoid buying games from them. I'm sure others feel the same way and would rather give their money to someone who didn't win "worst company of the year"[consumerist.com] twice in a row.
Its really absurd when you add the actual cost to the equation. I would actaully be interested in seeing numbers myself, this is actaully really impressive on EA's part.
That's how I played it :P
