Way too expensive

Considering the age of this game, I'd say the base game and all of its DLC and expansion packs are way expensive. and I'm talking -75% off.

Not worth full price but at the sale price, totally worth it if you liked the previous Sims games. The Sims 3 Store items are WAY overpriced compared to the expansions/stuff packs.

I agree the DLC are too expensive.

I took my 500$ i was ready to spend on hgames and put 500$ more o my new guitar so i could play Rocksmith instead!

The game isn't that bad (coming from a long-time Sim fan) but the way they charge you astronomical prices for the DLC and expansion packs should be illegal. Not to mention the fact that they made new expansions for Sims 3 out of content that had already been implemented in the Sims 2 or its xpacks just to milk every penny out of the customer. Furthermore as someone mentioned not only are there DLCs here but there is overpriced DLC on their website too which you're constantly bombarded with once you start up the game. God I hope EA goes out of business soon. But the really said thing is people actually fall for their tactics.

Yeah but tbh theres much more work on those dlcs. Train sims dlc require way more 3d modeling and coding.

EA never be cheap. I have been waiting for so long that all DLCs has a reasonable selling price, which I bet EA would never do that, even the game is consider old game. Look at their Origin n check how much they sell for The Sims. Steam at least put an effort in putting a discounted price. Luv u Steam...but still expensive for me :p

EA is clinging to an antiquated price model. A game in a box has overhead costs, but given Steam's risk-free distribution model, and the age of this game and it's sprawling content, EA should really lighten up and slash the prices on the DLC. Something comparable to Fallout 3's DLC, for example.

I can handle criticism fine thanks. The specific comment I was replying to has been deleted, probably by the mods, but the person was basically making a very thinly veiled implication that people should go pirate the game because he thinks it's too expensive. Thinking the price is too high is totally fine. It doesn't justify pirating the game though.
