The Sims™ 3

The Sims™ 3

What do you set your Sims lifespan to?
I used to use one based on a reddit post, but the sub is private now sooo I don't remember what the lifespan was. What do you guys like to use?

This is probably not exactly how I do it, but I'll try to remember it all.

3 days baby
3 (or 5?) days toddler
7 or 8 days small child
12 days teenager
fairly long young adult and adult (can't remember how long)
10? days elderly

Anyway, it probably adds up to a fairly long life.

Babies get really boring after 3 days.
Toddlers are very cute, but can also get boring after you've done the potty training, teaching to talk and doing blocks and/or the music toy.
Small children who will be painters or geniuses could do more days, if you want to give them more experience with either of those skills.
I used to give teenagers a short span, but recently I changed that so that they could level some skills up more and get credit for more field trips.
If I start out with elderly folks (original townfolk) then I give them more days. Otherwise, I don't like how the town gets full of mostly old people for a while, so I've made their days fewer.
I usually play Epic. Babies 3 days and everything else to the max.
Normal, maxed out. Extends to all pets. Seasons to 14 days per

Same.👍
I set babies and toddlers to really low like between 7-14 days baby, 14-30 days toddler. Max out young adult, adult, and elder. Pets I max out adult and elder and do like 30 for puppy/kitten/foal. Seasons maxed out.
i play on the epic setting but with some stuff adjusted. babies are set to like, 5 days, toddlers 10 days, and then every other life stage is the longest it can be 👍 i play rotational in a world of all sims that i've made so i like them living long
Shortest for babies, I think 3 days for toddlers (ensure toilet training), longer to enjoy kids going to school, love the high school phase since I can teach the teen to drive and they work too so that's for a while, longest for adult and once again shortest for elder.

I might shorten the toddler stage and lengthen the kid stage to ensure skill development.

I disable aging. I manually age them up when I'm ready for them to do so.
Was messing around with shorter lifespans but end up using magic potions and farming to be immortal anyway.

I would do b2-t8-c16-t10-ua36-a60-e60, something of the like for realism, but as HiFive said, early life stages get boring fast, so it'd be very understandable if you want to shorten them. Given how Babies literally can do anything, no real reason to have them for more than a day, Toddlers should be trained in the three skills before ageing up, but should be done in 4 days, Children the only real thing is maybe getting on the Honour roll or whatever it's called and it's surely doable in an in-game week, Teens are where you start having real stuff to aim for like being an overachiever which is Honour roll, level 3 part time job and I think Scholarship, though that could be for Sims 2 and just continued aiming for it anyway in 3 since why not? Adults (whether with Young in life state name or not) are where the real full game play is at, therefore what you likely should make the longest, default is already 42 days (21 each) out of I think 90 total.
No aging . I did not max out his challenges and perks just for him to grow old and bad looking and die . He is immortal just like his neighbours .

I like the initial challenge of getting them the Age Freeze potion before they get old.

I do something somewhat similar. With the Supernatural DLC, you can play as a vampire. Once you get them the Immortality perk, their aging drops to 0, and they become immune to the sun. Only downside: they sparkle.
