does anyone know how to get a flame fruit

You can plant one of the uncommon seeds found around town and there a chance you will grow them. Or just go to the cheat console and type "buydebug" with "testingcheatsenabled on" (without quote) and you'll find the flame fruit plant to buy from the debug section of buy mode.

Also, most towns have some flame fruit growing *somewhere*. You can always visit other Sims and harvest it out of their gardens.

You will propably found it in the garden of the plantation, if you have one in your town.

If you have World Adventures, one of the tombs in egypt has A LOT of flame fruit growing inside it.

Flame fruit are from special seeds, not uncommon or rare. (if you have the greenhouse venue you can use that gardening station to identify seeds for you).
