TV sets stopped teaching skills?
The TV sets of my Sims in all of my save games stopped teaching them the skills... i.e. their blue progression gauge doesn't show up... this happened after i installed Outdoor Living and Fast Lane, haven't changed anything else...
Anyone know what this is about?

PS: I validated the installatio, even deleted and installed again without success...

Do you have any mods or custom content installed? Something in them could be interfering with your recently-added packs to cause this problem.

You can test by temporarily renaming your The Sims 3 folder (in your Documents directory's Electronic Arts folder), starting a new game, and seeing if the TVs teach in it.

No mods or CC installed... and it's every kind of tv in every savegame that seems corrupted... Since this is the Steam version which really should be up to date in regard to patches, it's "bye bye, Sims, was fun while it lasted..."

I can't tell if you're still interested in troubleshooting. If you are, if you start a new game, do the Sims in that game learn from the TV?

No, they don't; just to make sure, i started a completely new game by renaming my Sims folder so that none of the data there is loaded... but still no luck

Hrm, that's very strange and not a problem I've heard of before. I'm going to look around and see if I can find anything -- I'll post again if I find something useful.

Edit: Your Sim trying to learn from the TV has at least one point already in the skill they're trying to learn, correct?

Errrm... therein lay the problem... i didn't even know until now that you had to get the skill started before you could learn from the TV... *blush* and thank you very much for your help
