Does Island Paradise still have issues in 2025?
Has technology evolved to the point of having the game be playable by virtue of just being better??

Island Paradise never had issues. The core game itself is completely playable, meaning that if you play Bridgeport, Sunset Valley, etc. with IP installed, there won't be any bugs or crashes.

What had issues was the world that came shipped with it, Isla Paradiso. Some of the houses and households are bugged, leading to crashes over time. I supposed with better specs, the lagging and crashing isn't as severe but then it becomes annoying to play because it will keep freezing from time to time.

To play Isla Paradiso without pulling your hair out, you can just download a free fixed version of the world, download a different CC world with a beach theme, or track down all the guides to help you fix Isla Paradiso on your own. Here are a few guides to start you off:

All I had to do on Isla Paradiso was move the houseboat families to inland homes and delete the Scott family (that also lives on a houseboat). Everything works fine as long as I do that before starting to play a new family.
