Island Paradise

I've been playing Sims 3 for a few months now and everything has ran smoothly. That is until I bought the Island Paradise expansion. Now when I play it just freezes in Live mode. And its rather frustrating. Anyone else run into this problem?

Found this and was able to move and place a scuba diving spot from the IP to the custom map i use. Worked fine, took me twice to get it right, but ended up working fine. Likewise moving ports from the IP map to my custom also worked (the normal way, none of the Diving Spot steps needed aside from just saving it to bin and placing it on your map)

IP has a lot of bugs, there are some things that will help. It has been a long time snice I played it, so I can't remember it all, Carl's Sims 3 (not sure of exact name) site has a lot of info and tips to play the game.
But, I do remember that the Prince his houseboat is glitched. Move him to another houseboat. His brother and his family should be removed, also destroy the house, it has some glitches that cause problems. The woman who is pregnant or just had his baby, she and her family should be deleted also and I would delete their home. There is a place to put a resort, can't remember which one, that needs to be deleted. Remove some of the houseboats that are empty. That is all I can remember. Once I did that most of my problems left. Check Carl's site and you will find more info to help you with the game.

Yes, pretty certain it is the venue that is the problem. For this reason, it is a very long time since I played IP using the home venue. So, have never completed the exploration etc. There are some workarounds for the various bugs. Go to Carl's Sim 3 Forum for lots of information on the bugs and the way to get around them. Or, set up a nice little resort in whatever world you prefer to play. This is one expansion which I really regret buying and would never recommend.

Yeah I don't think anyone should buy it for the map or stuff like that. I got t for the extras and wanting to use the ports anbd divespots in my custom world, for that alone it was worth it, but I don't think it would have been worth it if i actually wanted to play the map campaign.

I don't remember all the tips I got on Carl's site, but it fixed the problems, you could search online also and find what to do to fix the bugs. I liked the island, but the main thing was the all the extras, furniture, sailing, some of the careers you could pick.
I felt the same way about Aurora Skies, I found the world depressing, it was dark and dreary to me. I shudder even as I thinjk about the world because of how close the houses were to the streets. I just couldn't play it, took the families I liked and saved them, all the etras that came with it and had that to use. Love MV, beaautiful world, great characters and all the extras make it a fantastic world to play in.
