Anyone else get script errors on the launcher?

This is usually because one of the programs the Launcher relies on is out of date. It needs the following to be up to date in order to function properly:
  • Internet Explorer (even if you use a different default browser, the launcher uses IE to display stuff).
  • Adobe Flash
  • Adobe Air
  • Java
  • Microsoft C++ redistributable
Having any one of those out of date can cause the errors you're seeing.

But, the errors don't really affect much, and you can safely ignore them if you don't want to sign into Origin in your Launcher.

The crash is likely a separate issue. There are a number of troubleshooting steps to try in section 3 of my guide, below:

The step I recommend the most is in 3.9: Install NRaas Overwatch to help your computer cope with Sims 3.

The only other things I can offer is to also be sure that your Windows install is up to date, as well as your .Net install.

The "script error" is NOTHING about YOUR LOCAL INSTALLATION. It's purely CODING ERROR on server side. In that case, there is something on line 104 char 3 they forget to put, either as simple as semicolon, or whole strings.

Even if you already put whole shebang of plugin like newest IE, java, flash, shockwave and silverlight.

If the code is deprecated, there would still be... you guess it... "script error"

Just press "ok" or "cancel" on every script error message and it will load just fine.

It happens randomly, I've seen it pop up for a while here and there ever since I got the game (admittedly much later than most people and probably after all the expansions were released)... and then it'll go away again on its own. So yeah, it's most likely EA's fault and they've already made it clear how little attention they are going to give to Sims 3 anyways. They have the facepalm disaster that is Sims 4 to dote over now.

As Derper93 says, just click OK every time the error comes up and you should end up at the proper screens of the launcher as if nothing happened.
