Music is super loud no matter the audio setting
Whether it be in town view, build/buy or even stereo music, it's suuuper loud. I've even gone into settings and muted all the audio sliders and music is still playing at full volume, any idea how to fix this?

Turn your system volume down? Turn your speakers down?

Are you asking me? Obviously I know I can do that, ideally I’d like to not do that since I wouldn’t be able to hear anything else on my system or the game. Hope that answers your questions.

And before you ask, I’m aware of volume mixer too. Problem I’m having is the games music is louder than the rest of the game, so I just turn it down then I won’t be able to hear anything.

I love how this is the only time i've ever been able to find anyone else with this issue and naturally all the answers given are useless and it goes unsolved

Maybe have Steam verify the files. Maybe try a reinstall. I know a reinstall would be a huge headache, but if the options menu isn't working properly, perhaps something didn't download properly.

There's absolutely no reason to reinstall when everyone can just factory reset by pulling out Sims 3 folder to desktop as backup (or some other place), launching game (to recreate folders), then putting back in some folders from backup Sims 3 folder.

Because it's a super rare bug and people probably felt bad for the OP when no one answered. So, they probably answered with anything to let OP know that he wasn't being ignored.

Like I said, it's a super rare bug that I can only vaguely recall the answers to, but think I can give you some leads on, anyway, other than, "Just change your volume."

There could be a third party program messing/conflicting with your sound driver or game as you're running it. If you have One Drive, ditch that ASAP. (But make sure you keep your /Saves, /SavedSims, /Library, /Screenshots, /RecordedVideos and /Mods folder as backup just in case you have to factory reset your game).

If you don't have One Drive, try running without your antivirus. If worse comes to worse, reinstall the sound driver or if you're on Windows, use the Sound Troubleshooter. Maybe you accidentally have two sound drivers on your system.

I also remember that this can be caused by a piece of bad CC, a sim getting stuck somewhere, or some other in-game event. I would suggest using Overwatch mod and Error Trap to see what's up, and maybe running the game without CC just to see if the problem goes away.

Another thing that can mess with some games is extra peripheral devices plugged into your computer. Try unplugging those. Also, apps like RivaTuner can also Cause problems instead of fixing them.
