Hoping someone can give me a workaround for a problem I'm having. I recently purchased the Sims 3 and all it's DLC during a sale on steam and today decided to try setting it up. I was having an issue getting worlds to show up in the drop down menu but found a fix for that in another post but now I'm having trouble with something else.

I've tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling, I've tried adding it through the launcher and also while in game but no matter what I seem to do, all that sweet in store content I bought way back when won't seem to stay downloaded in the game.

I download it and then install it. Then I fire up the game and when I go into Character Creation none of it can be found. When I check the installation tab in the launcher, none of it shows up.

When I try to reupload it, it'll tell me everything uploaded successfully but it still won't show up once I'm actually in game.

Any advice?

Your Store content needs to be installed through the Download Manager on the main menu and you need to be logged in to your Sims3/Origin account to download it. You don't need to be logged in for much of anything else, but you do need to be logged in for that.

The manager is a bit persnickety on how it works, but you need to install each bit individually and you can't have more than a handful of items queued up at a time or it has hissy fits. So it will be time-consuming if you have a lot of it and you'll just need to be patient while you work your way through it. Get some Icy Hot for your mouse finger because all of the notifications about the downloads will appear behind the manager (you won't see them until you close out) and you'll need to close them before you can use the main menu again.

Worlds and such that come in Sims3Pack files need to be installed through the launcher. I've found that to be kind of hit-or-miss. Sometimes they install just fine and other times I need to install them through the launcher and then install them again through the manager.

Just scroll down to the Steam version. You still have to install one by one, but it adds a bunch of filtering options including “Uninstalled Only” to help you better track what is / isn't installed. And it improves a bunch of other annoying things about the launcher,

All my store content managed to uninstall itself last week, no idea what happened but its a nightmare. Im having to go through everything individually and delete the downloaded file from the launcher and then redownload it from the store.

I cant even be bothered tbh, its going to take me forever

Oof sorry. Only the smooth patch (which is also nice) is for the Steam version. The Launcher is only Origin for now :/
