First link the EA App with Steam:
https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/link-ea-and-steam/
Now you can also start playing from Steam instead of the EA App if you want to.
Then go to my profile, scroll down a little and try the single steps I write in the 2nd showcase. This works perfectly for many players and for me, so hopefully for you, too. If it does, you must follow these steps every time before you start playing, it takes only a few seconds and there is no patch or anything else needed.
This method doesn't work for everyone though but still does for many people, including myself, so hopefully it will work for you, too.
your description is exactly what I wrote on my profile in the 2nd showcase already many months ago, that's why I suggested it above.
the reason why TS3 doesnt work on intel is due to the CPU not being able to run the game without the Adler Lake patch I just prefer the Adler Lake patch rather than do this song and dance
I kinda "fixed" this issue for myself by going into the game's files:
C:SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
and launching the game from TS3.exe (Not TS3W.exe).
I found that TS3.exe got me into the game, and from the main menu I could retroactively open the Launcher (to enable mods and stuff).

After that I closed the game and went back into Steam:
Go to your Library, then click + Add Game at the bottom left of the page.
After that, choose Add a Non-Steam Game, and then Browse
Find TS3.exe in C:SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
and Open it. After that choose Add Selected Program
After you've added it, it'll be listed like any other game in your library. Just rename it whatever you want...I also right-clicked mine and added it as a desktop shortcut - works fine.
Whenever I wanna play, I just launch the game from there instead.
User Schluppdidupp also has another method of fixing the issue on her profile page.
One benefit to my method is that it's a one-and-done deal. If it works, then it's all go. All you have to do whenever you wanna play in future is hit the play button.
I'd still recommend trying other methods before this however, as I only ended up doing this after virtually nothing worked for me at all.
