How can I install the Create a World tool?

I downloaded the app on Thesims3.com and when I try to install CAW it shows that I don't have The sims 3 installed wich is not true.

Minor registry edits required to get it to recognize the Steam version of the game. The Steam install is in a different location than where it looks for it so basically you need to tell it to look in the right place. Unfortunately it has been years since I did it though and I don't recall the exact changes required, just be careful and make sure to look up precisely what to do as the registry is dangerous to mess around in because you could really mess up the computer badly with even minor errors.

This is the guide I used when I did it(I had it saved in "My Favorites" so it was easy to find).
