How to find Red Assassin Bugs?

My sims are currently on vacation in Shang Simla, and a request to find 3 Red Assassin Bugs keeps showing up on the adventure board. But I've only ever found one of these things, and their icons haven't showed up on the map since that one time.

They are hard to find. Each one is usually a large distance from the previous one - in a different part of the map. I think they only show up briefly in the early evening for most Sims.

You will also have a hard time catching them unless your Sim has some good experience catching bugs. If your Sim has never caught a bug before they will not be successful. Sometimes you have to make two visits to China to find them all. Practice catching bugs before you travel the 2nd time.

These days, I have my Sims practice catching a lot of bugs before they start to travel. A very experienced bug-catcher will sometimes have a larger batch of Assassin bugs show up that will stay on the map longer, and they will be easy to catch.

Do they ONLY show up in Shang SImla, or can they show up in other places, like when the vacation's over and your sims are back home?

I don't think they show up in the non-vacation towns. It's possible they show up in Egypt, but I can't remember for sure.

If you have Supernatural, you could have a werewolf sim hunt specifically for insects to have a chance of getting Assassin bugs, but otherwise they're quite rare and they normally show up in the hilly farmlands to the south/south-east and near the expensive holiday home mansion at least from experience.
