Has your Sim ever wanted to cheat?
I make my Sims cheat all the time, but I don't think I've ever actually seen a want appear to flirt or do something romantic with another Sim while the Sim is in an active relationship unless I make the first move by making them flirt. Have you ever seen this? If your Sim wanted to cheat, would you let them?

In a mid life crisis, my sim wants a divorce, and a 10 grand car etc, completely ruins my storyline :steamfacepalm:

Not that I recall, but there was a "Loyal" werewolf wife who had never so much as cracked a dirty joke, let alone done any "Romantic" interactions, with anyone other than her husband but was ABSOLUTELY FIXATED on "confessing to cheating".
Even when I gave in and let her "confess to cheating" once in the hopes she would stop wishing to do so, she kept right on wishing to confess to it.
Eventually I quit playing that family because I figured that save HAD to have a pretty nasty glitch to cause that stupidity and I didn't want to pass it on to another generation or something.

No, neither of my sims have ever wanted to cheat on each other. I think it's because even though both of them have the Flirty trait, they flirt ONLY with each other.

I just recently got these same wishes on one of my recent sims.

Yup, the game likes to throw that kind of stuff in here and there - to spice things up, I guess. I don't like that the game does this, but I've learned to make a save at least once every sim day so that I can load up an older save and prevent whatever unwanted thing happened.

In all my time playing Sims 3, a couple of times after I had already married them that I found out they were in a relationship with someone else.

Well, I just remembered that my Sims do sometimes spontaneously cheat. It's why I only let one sim attend a party by themselves. I can't keep an eye on both sims at the same time, and sometimes they will start flirting or even kissing another sim while their partner is in the same house. It's only if I'm in control of the sim full-time at the party that I can prevent such things.

if any of mine wanted to cheat or did, they would be killed off.

May I give you some advice? Have your two sims in a relationship with each other start said romantic relationship really early. It's been my experience that the longer that relationship lasts, and if the sims are public about their romance, then they'll become regarded as "Committed" by the town. No more cheating after that. I believe that if your sims publicly kiss even once, then the NPC sims will regard each of your sims as already taken.

Yes, I usually do that, and usually have sims that are regarded publicly as "committed", but they can still spontaneously cheat at a party. The game just likes to spice things up a bit every once in a while. Again, I save at least once per Sim day so that I can backtrack to an earlier save and prevent unwanted stuff from happening.
