I haven't played in quite a while, but I do see a lot of activity on the "Discussions" section here so good luck!
I'm someone who tends to binge a game til I'm tired of it, then switch to a different one, repeat, and eventually get around to redoing the ones I already played again, so every so often I'll be back to Sims3 for a while. Unfortunately the EA App switch made this and Sims4 unplayable for me since I don't have any internet at home right now to keep an active connection, but someone told me how they got around that so I'll probably(hopefully) be 'actively playing' again soon.

I spent the entire Winter playing this game, and I've been helping people on the forum threads for years, since this is one of my favorite games. However, I play all of my games solo, so I don't friend anyone for play purposes.

I can open the game without an internet connection just fine. I recently had to reinstall the game, and this time I let Steam create a desktop icon to open the game with. I unplugged my modem to see if I could open the game from that icon, and it worked just fine and I was able to play my most recent family. I can also open the game with the TS3W.exe file in the game folder.

Yes, I will always be coming back to this game whenever I need a calmer gaming experience.

According to a Steam app that charts such things, there are currently about 2,500 people playing The Sims 3 right now.

Yos . My save r normally very old and loading time 15 mins or so same goes for save time a lil more or less . Do have nrass mods to avoid errors .

Trying to play the game but it basically becomes broken for me after about 20-30 days in with ridiculous load and save times. Last time I tried to log in to my first sim I sat at a loading screen for 5 minutes before ctrl alt del ing out of the game

I'm taking a break, cause I got tired of the issues.
The main one is how much time takes to load, to connect to the online features, the occasional freezing after sped it up, cause some household sim decided to activate some appliance while off camera.
The bugs and glitches. Like I'm trying to get specific fish at the ocean, but don't know why the Sim can't reach the location, even is right in front of them.

I did a bunch of tweaks and voodoo as suggested, and didn't noticed any reliable improvements. Like some changes appears that make the game run better, but it increases the rate of freezing and crashing.

NRAAS Error Trap, I don't even know if is really helping or not, I keep getting notifications spams of X errors that doesn't help at all, or when is something like Sim or pet having pathfinding issues, I don't know how to fix it. I reseted the lot, I visit with my Sim to use the resetsim from Master Controller, and the issue keep coming back. There is msg in new words suggestion to remove Sims without home, but I said no to it, cause I not sure if that would affect Sims like ghosts, and service ones.

It's unfortune. TS3 is such great game full of good things, but run so poorly. Meanwhile I'm playing the barebones and free TS4 that run way better.

I am playing the game with breaks. I have been playing all of the families of Sunset Valley pretty superficially focusing on relationship making and breaking, swinging, creating descendants. Just wondering how loong I can manage all of that.
