food mod?
Might sound confusing, Its annoying when i have a sim cooking and other sims automatically get food from the fridge or start cooking too. Are there any mods that stop this? Like if one sim is cooking a group meal all other sims will hold off doing anything food related

also is there one that makes them clean dishes in kitchen sinks and not bathrooms?

Unfortunately, I don't know of any mods that have these functions.

However, when it comes to washing dishes in the washroom rather than the kitchen, normally if you have a dishwasher, they will use the dishwasher rather than the sink.

Also, sims are used to washing dishes in the sink closest to where they eat. Maybe you can move the dining room or the bathroom.

I also noticed that the sims tend to use the last table bought to eat.

Maybe it could be an idea to buy another sink to see if they will use the new one first.

Hope this will be useful to you.

Dishwashers definitely take priority for dishwashing. Your sims will clean up after themselves more frequently if a dishwasher is available. Having the Neat trait, as well, will almost guarantee that they will clean the dishes after every meal.

If a sim already has the Hungry moodlet, it is harder to stop them from doing their own thing concerning food, unless you watch them carefully and use the pause button a lot to cancel any attempts to feed themselves in a different way than what you want. The hungrier they are, the more likely they are to take matters into their own hands.

I've seen this question before and am fairly certain there isn't a mod to accomplish what you want. However, there's also a somewhat useful workaround: build your kitchen so that when a sim is cooking, they're blocking fridge access. Put the fridge and stove each one square away from the same corner, with an empty counter in between, and a counter that isn't empty on the other side of the fridge. The sim cooking will use the corner counter to chop and be blocking the fridge with their body both then and when they're using the stove. So even if other sims try to access the fridge, they'll be stuck waiting.

It's not a perfect solution since you may still have to cancel out some actions, but it'll at least cut down on the frequency.

I always designate one sim to be the cook, that sim concentrates on getting their cooking skill up while the other sims focus on money-making endeavors. Then when they start making halfway decent income, I have the cook begin to level up other skills.

Anyway, I always have the cook prepare a group meal and stick all leftovers in the fridge. Sometimes I will have the cook make 2 or 3 group meals. That way, if somebody is hungry, they reach for the leftovers first and still get the "happy meal" moodlet. My first sim family in sunset valley managed to upgrade their fridge to the nicest one, so food doesn't spoil and nothing is wasted.

I like Puzzleaddict's suggestion about the kitchen layout but I'm too picky about decorating for that to be a viable option for me. :P
