leisure day gone?
I started in a new custom town (there is no CC) as I have done before, my family to begin with had the normal leisure day and then after making more money I moved them into a bigger lot and their leisure day disappeared. i tried moving them out and back in, also tried deleting the festival ground and rebuilding it and i've tried playing different lots and no one has a leisure day, Can anyone help with this please?

Leisure day is a once-per-Sim-year holiday. Are you sure it just didn't pass, and you've not gotten back to that time of year again?

i thought it was once per season?

Once per year. It's the Sims equivalent of "Labour Day" or the like. Other seasons have different holidays (Spooky Day in fall, Feast Day, &c.).

yeah that's what i meant. i don't get any of the holidays like spooky day or snowflake day, i had the summer one, as soon as autmn kicked in, the day wasn't marked on any of my Sim weeks, whether the Sim is at school or work so i don't get why i have one holiday and the other season ones don't appear

Hrm, while I try to think of a reason this might happen...

How long are your seasons? Did you leave them at default, or go with custom lengths?

Default 7 days

OK, I don't think holidays are dependent on having a festival lot, so replacing that likely won't change anything.

The next thing I'd try is getting rid of all the temporary files and seeing if there was something maybe glitched in them and the new-generated ones work better

Try this:
  1. Inside your Documents directory's The Sims 3 folder, locate and delete the following files:
    • CasPartCache.package
    • compositorCache.package
    • scriptCache.package
    • simCompositorCache.package
    • socialCache.package
  2. Inside DCCache, remove missingdeps.idx and dcc.ent
  3. Inside Downloads, remove all .bin files.
  4. Inside SIgsCache, remove all .bin files.
  5. Inside SavedSims, remove Downloadedsims.index.
  6. Inside IGACache, remove all files.
  7. Inside Thumbnails, find and delete all .package files and all files thumb_*.png files. Also, if there is a FeaturedItems folder, delete it entirely.
  8. If there is a WorldCaches folder, delete it.

Finally start your game up again, load your household, but create a new save for it once it's done loading (Save As..., and give it a new name). See if that helps at all.

I think it completely glitched as I lost all my saves despite trying everything

That's ... even worse. I'm sorry to hear it.

Sadly you're gonna have to put up with crap like that, EA didn't put much effort into bugfixing on the expansions and it's especially noticable on seasons onwards.

Yeah i gave up on retrieving them when I noticed the saves only had the meta file in them, everything else disappeared
