Pet Death...taking forever!!
How long after aging up before the damn cat dies? I don't want to force kill the thing because I haven't seen a natural pet death yet! (plus I'd like my sims a chance to mourn it since they love the darn thing so much)
How long before the thing finally passes? It filled it's elder age capacity almost 10 sim days ago!
And no, there are no special circumstances I'm aware of to keep it around.

Frankly I'm done with pets after the ones my famillies have are gone. They are attention hogs and truly get on my nerves more than I enjoy them!
I love them in RL of course, dogs and cats. However, cats especially are not this needy in RL for reals! The Sims cats act more like dogs in the needy/attention department! geez!

Could not agree more. My worst investment in Sims, other than Sims 4 vanilla, has to be the pets extension. The pets, all of them, are just too time consuming. If my RL dog took that much of my time I would be taking him to the nearest re-homing centre, like, yesterday. As to time to die, sorry, I have never had the time or inclination to see the thing through.

Move in any sim you can, and, immediately get them to move out with pet. Place in a home near you if you want to see how long the little pest will live.

LOL, right?
I decided to use the mod's cheat and triggered an age transition, which on an old pet or person causes them to die of old age. I had forgotten about that option until that moment. So I was able to see a "natrual" death. It was kind of cool how the Reaper took the cat. He did the smoochie thing and then it floated up into some lights.

There is a mod I use that makes pets MUCH more manageable. It's Nona's 'No Social and Exercise Decay for Pets'

Available here:

Otherwise yeah, I agree, they're utter time hogs.
