I still feel that Sims 3 is better than Sims 4

Another thing that why i love sims 3 much more than sims 4 is that there are too few items that add new gameplay in sims 4

I just wanna show an example, I've seen broken toilets that overflowed in real life but I've never seen one spitting waste water like a fountain and all the household members have to pee themselves because of that. Yeah, that's what happens in the sims 4 lol

Haha. That is a joke. From what I have read and experienced myself, Sims4 is not worth buying...for a couple of reasons. Apparently, the base game is just bare bones. Not much content and if you want more content you have to pay a huge amount of money for their DLC's. As well, as I have experienced, the way they set up the game is even if you bought the game through Steam, you still need an Origin account to play it. Makes no sense. Why should I need an Origin account to play something I bought for on Steam? I bought Sims3 when it was available on Steam, and I never needed an Origin account to play it. Why now, with Sims 4 do I need an Orgins account? Its play stupid and makes ZERO sense.

Sims3 is super popular among Sims fans. That should say something about the popularity of the Sims series. For them to say they wont be making Sims5 if Sims4 is not successful is ridiculous. They seem to forget that gaming communities share good and bad points. They should have added more content to the base game, and they should allow their game to run from Steam if they bought the game from Steam. IMO those are 2 bad decisions they made.

Definitely sims 3, mainly because of opportunities you can do there and the artificial intelligence being significally better than sims 4. The camera to view through town is neat in sims 3 as well.
It would be great if there was mod for sims 3 to allow grim reaper career and overall add grim reaper to family without him losing the abilities or duplicated reapers appearing.. I imagine a mod which would do such thing, a grim reaper possible to marry/add to your household (no babies), which still reaps sims who die, as well as ability to decide wheter a sim should or should not go to netherworld... I went a bit away from topic, going back, grim reaper in sims 3 is also DEFINITELY better. His clothes, hands, no stupid tablet and just scythe, quick and fast, with cool song playing when he appears. The UI in sims 3 is also something better than sims 4. Mainly the actions menus, in sims 4 there's some stupid animation delaying the apperance of them which is what i dont like, in sims 3 it's instant. One more thing is that sims 3 is on steam and doesn't require long way setup to get things (steam or origin, doesn't require multiple platforms to be installed like sims 4 do, what i mean is that it needs origin to play and you can't choose between steam or origin). Two minuses of sims 3 is that x64 bit version doesn't exist and there are old (not high quality) graphics (aka game designed for hardware that was available in 2009, understandable, it would be great if the graphics were updated to fit modern needs, however the effects still remain nice, even today) other things sims 3 has some weird freezes when there are lots of sims on household and it's snowing outside.. I don't mention the fact that The Sims 4 got even more content split into extensions for money cause ea is greedy bich..
Conclusion:
Sims 4 is worse, in my opinion.

i don't really think graphics has anything to do with the games popularity , heck! just look at minecraft as a perfect example of this.

You can make any The Sims 3 rabbithole career into an active one using Zerbu's Ultimate Career mods where you can design and setup your own working lots with offices and workstations. Then you assign those lots for their specific careers. All the sims that work in those careers will go to the new work lots and use the skill building objects specific to those careers.

The mod can also be used for fan-made careers to be turned into active careers as well!

Your sims can also set up their own stores to sell stuff too in The Sims 3.

I agree with the OP - The Sims 3 is way better than The Sims 4. There is so much to do in live game mode in Sims 3 and that's what games are all about. I know that most Sims 4 players just end up making and dressing up their sims and/or build lots, but you can do that with much cheaper with other dress up and building apps!

I totally agree that TS3 is way better than TS4. For me in 4.
It was the removal of the open world and freedom of movement.
This was the advancement of TS3 on TS2.
The intro of loading screens, and community lots was the advancement of TS2 on TS1.
Between the first 3 Sims games. Each one was built from the previous and were truly improved on.
TS4 is lost somewhere in between 2 & 3... and to me just become meh.... I see ya, but don't wanna be ya.

When looking around the internet for 'professional' reception for The Sims 4... this to me is the best I could find and which I thoroughly agree with...

"GameSpot gave this game a 6 out of 10. Despite praising the visuals, audio, and the new multi-tasking and moods system, he states that he misses the two main features of The Sims 3: "Create-a-Style" and the open world. His conclusion is: "The Sims 4's biggest problem is that The Sims 3 exists"

I was sorry I bought sims4, not only for the lack of game play but also the fact that it was on origin which is such a useless platform. I went back to sims3 very quickly and bought it here on steam. I love the free and easy world and for me, the characters have so much more life.

Haha. Terrible idea. I think EA knows they screwed up on TS4 so they are pushing people to buy it, and threatening to not make a TS5 if not enough copies sold. EA should make this decision based on all versons of the Sims games. Im pretty sure they are making lots of money from TS3. IMO EA is only doing this because their egos are hurt that the Sims community doesnt care for TS4.

Im sorry too that I bought TS4. I installed it fine and when I went to try to play it, it told me I need an Origin account to play it. I said forget this and uninstalled it, and ended up buying a couple more TS3 DLC's lol :)

Agreed. I just can't understand why I have to go on an Origin account after I've bought ts4 on steam... And the game is significantly harder for me, I've played ts3 for more than 800 hours yet I still feel like a freakin n00b XD
