Trash stuck in inventory

hi, so my sim somehow got trash and a newspaper stuck in his inventory which is giving him a constant disgusted mood penalty. when i click on either item nothing happens, they can't be dragged or moved. I tried stacking them but that didn't work and the testing cheat thing didn't work either.

Is there any other way to fix this issue?

Well, I'm not sure if there's a non-mod based solution to this, maybe reset sim using testingcheats would also reset the sim's inventory.
But when I got this problem, I used the Delete Inventory function from NRass' Debug Enabler[nraas.wikispaces.com] mod. Just click on the sim, on the pie menu click on "options: smart phone", and choose "Delete Inventory" and click the tick. Make sure to take out every objects in the sim's inventory you know you are going to use later before doing so. Although you probably have to reset the sim anyways because the smart phone hidden object could get deleted as well.
