Sims3.com Register a Game - CD key from Steam "invalid"

I bought Sims 3 on Steam some years ago and only go around to using thesims3.com now, I try to register my name with the CD key but it just says "invalid code", I went onto EA livechat support who told me to go to Steam support, but I can't speak to anyone as I have registered it in order to actually play the game


I found a lot of people have this issue but haven't been able to find a solution - I just want to be able to register my game onto my thesims3.com account so I can use the Sims 3 store, but no matter what I do I can't find a solution to it, I'd really appreciate some help!

Why do you need access to that? You can just install user generated content and mods for free elsewhere.

because I wanted to get the other worlds only available on the Sims 3 store, but I managed to get it to work in the end

How did you get it to work?

There is two options on TheSims3 to redeem code the one under my store account is for 16 Digit Sims 3 connent. The other option is under My Page My account - Register a game there you can put the 20 Digit code from Steam or you can redeem the key on Origin.

i restarted my computer a few times and it eventually let me enter it and registered, i wish i had a better answer to help others but it just eventually fixed itself
