Store Content Patch-How to get it?!
How do I force the launcher to get store content updates or patches? I just switched my game to Steam thanks to the recent sale and everything is working great except I am missing pieces of content here and there from store items I purchased. Specifically Monte Vista and, it has installed and I'm able to use the world but none of the clothing or hair and some other objects like the cake will show up although it is listed as installed in the launcher. There is a store patch on the store site but no way to download it. I've been in and out of the launcher for a few days now and have never been asked to download anything regarding a store fix. Do these not work in Steam? Is there a way to download it manually? Am I forced to go back to Origin if I want that content to work? Ugh I'd really hate to have to do that since I just took 3 days downloading and reinstalling all my store purchases.

It is strange that the launcher doesn't automatically ask for you to download the content patch. Probably the servers screwed up or something. They rarely do maintenance to the online services of The Sims 3 nowadays. In the past, it could be triggered by checking updates, but since Steam version doesn't have that option, I don't know what you could do to trigger it manually.

You can also check "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ContentPatch". The patch should be located there if it is somehow downloaded automatically. If there is nothing there, I could upload the content patch for you to mediafire or something. The folder is 15 MBs so it shouldn't be an issue.

If your launcher isn't telling you there's a store patch, then you're already up to date.

Be sure that you re-download any content with your Steam version of the game - things downloaded with Origin version may not be fully compatible due to being stamped 1.69 rather than 1.67.

Inside the game, with in-store shop on, you should be able to go to the download manager and get fresh copies suitable to your game from your purchase history (after first uninstalling the stuff from your launcher).

It is definitely not letting store updates through. I do not have 1.69 or anything origin even installed. The launcher version shows 1.67.2.024037 and when I start the game nothing pops up to grab any update. My content patch folder is completely empty with only the download folder and nothing in there either. I have re downloaded everything two ways, which is why it took me almost 3 days to install it all. I downloaded directly from my purchase history on the site and also from inside the game. Certain items are just not showing up in game.

Anyways as for the kissing toast thing, I really don't even know what that is but it definitely doesn't look like a store update. I prefer not to use mods aside from a couple from NRAAS, just want what I bought to work properly.

So that leaves the option offered by Haeloth. Since my ContentPatch folder is empty that seems to be my problem. Would it work if I used yours? If it does you would be a lifesaver! I'd like to try it.

(Remove the spaces)
I don't think this is related to that specific problem you have but hopefully I am wrong :)

And don't forget to backup your files in case this thing is coded to only work with the user's computer/ts3 account like store content. Hope it works :)

And also, if steam removes this link or something you can PM me (They sometimes do when they think it is copyrighted stuff, but I think this should be fine) And sorry for being late :)

Edit: It automatically removed it :D You can still PM me if you want. I added some spaces so it should work now.

@Aurora Sims - store content downloads

The download process has two (2) steps.

First, as you indicated, you need to download to The Sims 3 Game Launcher from your purchase history at store.thesims3.com (accessed via your favorite browser); this should put files where The Sims 3 Launcher looks for downloads at (i.e. "<documents>\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads").

Second, using the downloads button in The Sims 3 Game Launcher window, you need to select and install (the selected content) to your game.

Then (once installed), you need to know just where in the game to look for what you have downloaded and installed, as most of the store content doesn't always give one the best idea of just where in the various menus said content will show up. Of course the worlds packages are somewhat of an exception, as they are listed for you to select from (i.e. just which world | neighborhood would you like to play?) in the Main Menu.

Caution:
The store content download & installation procedure will place an installation "stamp" on whatever it installs - so that you can't share these downloads with a different installation instance (EA's anti-pirate practices making everything less user friendly)! Of course, at this late date, you can just download & install all that content to said different installation instance (if you don't mind spending some time doing it); makes one appreciate the bundled content packages aka collections.

Then, again, custom content (either your own or from the Sims Exchange) files can be shared (copied | moved) between "Downloads" folders.

Inside the game installation (i.e. Open Downloads Dashboard):
There is another option, from inside the game (past The Sims 3 Game Launcher) where you are suppose to be able to download and install store content, in more-or-less one step. This option usually fails to properly install whatever you attempt to install with it; might even cause one to need to rebuild The Sims 3 folder at "<documents>\Electronic Arts".

Store Content Patch:
If I remember correctly, any required patches download and install automatically when one is logged into the store.thesims3.com site while starting the game.

@NetPCDoc I have already done all the downloading and reinstalling. The problem was the store update did not come through on my end. Everyone says it just updates, but in my case it did not because the only items out of 7GB of installs I was missing are items listed in those store update notes.

But the good news is I have download the file provided Haeloth and I can now see those missing items in game :D Thanks so much!!!
