Problems with Adventures constantly

Missing keystones, board not resetting, relics stuck in inventory, and now headshots of Charlotte Dubois not working!! I need a headshot of her, but any I take with camera doesn't work. I tried asking her to pose first, I changed camera settings, I've tried with a camera AND phone, but nothing. What the hell is problem? Dam this expansion pack annoys me. And any help I looked up online, just discusses how to take photos, but no answer to this quest.

Is your photography skill up high enough?
Are you using a good camera? The phone camera is the worst, the Nikon-type camera is the best. The Canon-type is 2nd best.
Did you make friends with her first?

Are you just getting a blank photo? Or a photo with a thumbprint on it? The first photos you take as a new photographer will often be junk. In real life, you know that was a good shot, but the game will deliberately make all your shots junk until you've taken enough photos and your skill is leveled up. You can also read a photography book to level up the skill.

The best place to go for leveling the photography skill is Egypt. The worst place is France. In Egypt you can get the best camera and a book on photography. I think the scenic shots are worth more there, as well. New photographers lose more money than they earn, at first. When leveled up, they make a ton of money from their photos.

P.S. The game doesn't really care how good the photo was. It cares what the subject of the photo was. So, you don't need to bother trying to center the subject and make it look nice or whatever. Just make sure the object is in the photo and you will get points for taking that photo.

I never considered my skill level cuz being offered the quest, I guess I assumed it was irrelevant. I think my skill is probably 2 to 4. And I'm rich so I presume I have the best camera available, but I will check again when I log back on. Thanks for the tips. Now, to get the Relic of Life to work in Egypt!!!

There are many quests or wishes that you might get in the game that will require your Sim to level up in a skill first. If you don't want to do that, you can always cancel the wish or the quest. Different cameras are offered for sale in different countries. I'm pretty sure you can only buy the Nikon in Egypt.

The relics stuck and the keystones not working are not normal. Do you use some exotic mod ? Recently I tried a mod to remove unwanted wishes and it made it impossible to mount a horse. Hard to see how it can be related but it is a fact : When I removed the mod the horses worked again. So it is possible to have some nasty side effects from something unrelated.

For the portrait it always worked for me, not even need to be a closeup of the head, the target sim must only be on the photo. Same for the photo of a mummy, chest or pressure plate.

But you must have the photo in your sim inventory, not simply shoot the picture. You must take it from the camera or it will not work. I don't think the skill level or the camera is important. A cellphone picture is enough to complete the quest. You can even use a photo taken by another sim than the one who got the quest.

That does sound more like the issue. You need to take the photo out of the camera and put it in your inventory.
