I need help with getting serial key

I just bought the game and when I try to look on codes it only shows me dlc codes and not main game ones. Any way I can get it?

CAN'T FIND CD KEY FOR THE SIMS 3 GAME

Revised advice from 12/2021:

You have to right-click on the game from your Library page. Choose "Manage", and it should give you a CD Key option. You can also click on the gear icon in the right side of the page, just under the large graphic for the game.

You will not be able to find the CD keys for the base game or for Pets, but all the other CD keys should be there. EA started hiding two of the CD keys a year or more ago because people were reselling the keys. They had Steam hide them as well.

To get the CD keys for the base game and Pets, try this first. It works for some people.

Hit Windows key-R and enter "regedit" without quotes. Expand these folders, in order:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > WOW6432Node > Electronic Arts > Sims(Steam) > The Sims 3 Pets

Click on the "ergc" folder, and under "Data" you might see a 20-character code

If you still can't find a CD key from the above method, then contact EA support. Tell them why you want the key. Show them screen shots of your purchase receipt, and they will give you a key.

For some people who have purchased expansion packs, they can make an Origin account and register one or more expansion packs on there and then Origin will download a copy of its version of the base game. You can then use the CD key from that version.
