Report a translation problem
Since this is a brand new computer, I'm guessing it has Windows 11, and the following information may not help you. If you are using Windows 10, then maybe something in this batch of stuff will be useful:

And here's an odd fix posted by someone:
I seem to have fixed the problem (although there may still be errors or bugs further on in the game). I am now able to run the game. The solution was to go to the game file under Program Files > Steam > steam > games. There I saw the Sims 3 Icon with a weird looking numerical name. I changed the name to The Sims 3 and now the game is running.
Any other ideas as to what i could do to fix this?
