Boarding School Not working

I wanted to send one of my Sims to boarding to school, but it is not working. The child is not going to boarding to school but staying at home even though the game thinks that the child is going to boarding school. I also can not find the option to cancel boarding school either. Apparently, it is because the child has not left home yet. I also deleted temporary files in hopes that could resolve the problem, but it did not. Important to keep in mind as well that I would like to think that my error trap, debug, and overwatch mods should have been able to prevent this problem, but apparently they did not.

I had this happen once. I, too, could not find a way to fix it. I decided to just go along with it. They didn't have to go to the school in town, so no fuss with needing to participate in school field trips and learning nasty habits from other kids. Instead, I had my child building up skills at home, and getting boarding school credit at the same time. It was a win-win.

Did the child graduate as a young adult? Debug mod does have that option to include graduate from boarding school if for some reason it is needed.

That was not the only problem I faced either. The reason why I enrolled one of my Sim triplets (which I added into the game from Master Controller cheats mainly because it could be very difficult to get triplets without cheating on Sims 3) into boarding school even to begin with was because two of my sim children had homework with them after 100% completion, but one sim would have homework disappear mysteriously after completion. And so, I thought the best way to fix this problem was send the child to boarding school because of their being an apparent bug in the game with homework. But, the child did not leave to boarding school either. I think that I will play along with what you suggested and hopefully my child in boarding school at home (instead of actual boarding school) will graduate as well when she becomes a young adult. If not then I could use the debug mod to make her graduate from boarding school.

Latest update. I thought that the child was not going to boarding school. Maybe the game decided after I deleted the temporary files that she is going to boarding school now. Just took a little while for the game to decide she was leaving to boarding school. She left home to boarding school just now. Her icon turning grey was late, but she finally left for boarding school.

Well, I'm glad that resolved itself for you. To answer your question: Yes, my Sim graduated as a young adult from boarding school, even though he was home and building up his other skills the whole time. He did not have to attend the school in town, either, since he was enrolled in the boarding school. Once he graduated, everything continued normally.

I should add that I'm not using any mods.

I had noticed noticed comments from other players as well recently who play this game from elsewhere not on Steam. Number 1, boarding school for children have the option to reapply as teens until becoming a young adult from re-enrollment and number 2, a complaint from someone else about enrolling a teen for boarding school who came home early from boarding school but not completing boarding school with no graduation even as a young adult who experienced some problems in the game as well of not being allowed to do certain things because of the game thinking that young adult had not graduated yet.

As far as I am aware of the only four possible ways to resolve this problem are number 1 use the debug mod for graduating sim from boarding school, number 2 delete temporary files and especially if not using the debug mod or the debug mod does not seem to be working, number 3 only send someone away to boarding school for child until teen but not for teen until young adult unless if willing to take the risk of running into a possible bug for not graduating from boarding school, and number 4 extra saves possibly might be needed as well even with mods especially when sending teens to boarding school.
