Download hair and clothing limit?

I downloaded many different hair styles and all of them were added into the Sims 3 folder, but the game will only allow two of the downloaded hairstyles into the game in addition to one piece of clothing. Why is that? How can I remove that limit of only three items downloaded into the game? I would like to think that there should be no limit for downloaded items allowed into the game, but apparently that is not the case here.

Important to keep in mind as well that I also added Lucky Palms as well that includes all of the downloaded items from the gold edition in addition to me unlocking Lucky Palms with Sim points, but when it comes to using the Sims Resource website the SIms 3 would only allow me to use 3 items from that website. This leaves me wondering why that is and if there is any way for me to remove that limit for downloaded items allowed into that game from the Sims Resource website. Only 3 downloaded items allowed into the game from that website seems like a very small number of items. Also, downloading these items and moving them into the Sims 3 folder is also free that requires no subscription. And so, it is unclear to me as to why only 3 items are allowed for the maximum limit on the Sims 3 game from the Sims Resource website.

I think that I figured out what went wrong. The Sims 3 only recognizes three items apparently by default. The remaining items I would have to select "open with" for the Sims 3 game before they can even be installed into the game. I think that I just answered my own question. There is no limit, but apparently me needing to select "open with" when adding new items to the Sims 3 game from The Sims Resource website.
