Recommended settings for NRAAS Story Progression?
I've downloaded the mod but have a slight problem - things are developping a bit too quickly for my liking. Sims are getting boyfriends/girlfriends, getting married, etc. so when it's time for my sim to find a partner it turns out that *every* other sim is already taken in town.

Do any of you have recommended settings for NRAAS and can I download them straight to my game?

Thanks in advance.

If you turn up the lifespan of your Sims, progression slows to match.

I never actually knew that. I guess there are countless reasons its a mod your assumed to use.

You can also slow down the Progression by changing the Speed from Normal to Slow or Snail (as in the pace at which things happen in the game).

This is part of the reason why I have not used this mod yet despite me using various other mods, because despite me wanting to keep the story progression enjoyable where I do not get bored with the game I am also concerned that I may not like the results if use a story progression mod. I am also hesitant to change the life expectancy for my sims to longer at least in part, because the ages are sometimes displayed incorrectly where I have to fix them to the correct age sometimes with using intermediate master controller from the master controller cheats module. Also, as someone else mentioned earlier it might be a good idea to slow down the story progression as well when using this mod if it is getting too hard to find a partner; although, another option as well is to make someone who already has a partner to break up which fortunately there are a number of ways to make sims that you have no control over to break up. This includes cheats (add sim to family from typing testingcheatsenabled true after first using the keys keys shift+crl+c and after that using shift+click on a sim), master controller, and using a 4 hour mind control from a playable genie (as opposed to a lamp genie who is technically a slave) if you have the showtime expansion pack to name just a few examples of this. You also have the option to have "free will" turned off as well even without using any mods.

Apparently there is an option to not use the story progression mod as well even if you have it included for the list of nraas. This means that the story progression may not be enabled by default if you for some reason decide to not have it turned on.

Settings in this thread will help

SP has many settings you can tweak to suit the way you want mod to act

Read (or use ctrl+f if you are looking for something specific) the documentation and FAQ and if you still can't find what you are looking for just search it on google you would likely find the answer you are looking for

Everyone likes to play differently so can't really give you a ready made one

Also check out other nrass mods and it's modules that might help you with what you want to do (but don't download everything just to sake of having them)

Sounds quite realistic, it's like that irl.
To be more realistic, but not have too many sims divorce or break up by default I would say that probably the chances of divorce or break up happening should be set at around 20% from the story progression mod. There are various other ways to make break up's happen besides the story progression mod as I mentioned earlier, but if you get bored with the happily ever after scenario where too many sims stay together you could also increase the chances of divorce or break up by default slightly as well. If the setting was only at around 10% or less hardly any sims by default would divorce or break up; although, at the same time I would recommend as well that teen marriages be kept turned off.

(On a side note break up also includes ex boyfriend girlfriend in addition to spouse and losing a romantic interest.) Although I have not used the story progression mod yet I have also watched online videos about this as well. Obviously, when it comes to the modules there are youtube videos about this as well in addition to the story progression mod and in addition to this it also based on your own personal preference as well for deciding what modules you want to use; although, there may be some modules that are more popular than others at the same time. Would I recommend using all of the story progression modules? Maybe not, but again it is based on personal preference.

I recently added the Story Progression Mod and I am experimenting with it for the first time ever, but I noticed that my story progression does not include adultery (or in other words romantic affairs) which apparently some module (possibly the Story Progression Relationship module) is needed for that if it were to be included as part of a Story Progression Mod. This option is not included by default from the Story Progression Mod without a module being added for this. It could potentially make the game more realistic, but it is another module that would need to be added into the game if you want more break ups to happen automatically as opposed to manually.

For what it's worth, as I recall, Nraas Story Progression includes an option on a Sim to set "Romance: Arranged Marriage", which (if I recall correctly) signals the mod that you're intending for the selected pairing to happen (a sort of "destined pairing").
I believe the mod will then take that pairing into account when it sets up romances.

(I believe it also has an "Arranged Marriage: Caste" option, for when you want a certain selection of candidates, instead of having a specific Sim in mind)

I have a few questions. Does the story progression mod overall make the game more fun and enjoyable than when not using it? Can this mod be an annoyance at times besides it being buggy? I am still trying figure out how the story progression mod works and especially with the occult modules (vampires and slayers, fairies and werewolves), but I have seen a noticeable difference with the story progression mod as well. A lot more feedback for example with brand new story content I have never seen before that shows me what is going on with other sims.

Well, what it does is make things happen around the town, with Sim households you're not controlling.
Without any story progression, other Sims will effectively just stand around in their houses doing nothing, aside from some getting loaded in when you visit a community place (to make the town feel more alive). Thankfully, their needs are not an issue.

The game does come with a story progression right out of the box.
But the one made by EA is not very good, as it does everything randomly.
Such as, if you have Supernatural, EA's may just randomly make a Sim a vampire/werewolf. Or EA's might pair up two Sims that hate each other, even if one is happily married and has children (EA's doesn't take anything into account, like relationships, personalities, player preferences, etc).
Or EA's might just randomly kill or delete a Sim (whether you like that Sim or not), just cause the population is higher than what EA set it to.
-----

However, Nraas Story progression, is an improved story progression, that allows much better control.
The result is that you generally get to see what it does, unlike vanilla.
(That stuff it shows in the feedback is also technically done in the the vanilla version, but you don't get to see what it does)

You do get a lot of control with this mod, so you can set how you want things to happen.

(Such as, in my game, I didn't want vampires, so I went to the mod's Town Occult Ratio submenu and set Vampire to 0.
That mean the mod will not try to turn a sim into a vampire, and any that already were vampires will be auto-cured.)

What about the homeless sims? Is it recommended to delete them with the story progression mod to prevent overpopulation? I was asked this once, but because of my lack of experience as to the consequence of keeping them with the story progression mod enabled I clicked no, but what I did notice shortly after me using the story progression mod was immigration from another neighborhood regardless of whether or not I decided to keep homeless sims.

I honestly don't know what that does.
A lot of the settings I'm not that up to date on.
