Multiple Cats in Household Always Littermates?

Hi, I'm trying to do a cat legacy, but whenever I make a household with more than one cat, the game says they're littermates. How do I fix this?

So far, I'm creating one cat in the household and then creating another household for each new cat and merging them as a workaround, but I want to be able to make a whole batch of unrelated cats in cas.

Update: My workaround doesn't even always work, either. I've added multiple individual cats on their own and they're still listed as littermates. Why must it be this way? All I want to do is have a warrior cat legacy with minimal inbreeding, is that really so much to ask?

I think it says this for all animals regardless of species since their relationships are able to be edited manually to be mates or siblings, though for autonomy's sake if you had say, 3 cats and 3 dogs created/added to the family at the same time it may read as littermates. I imagine it could be used as a Sims 3 equivalent to Clan founders like Clangen has, I don't think the defined term affects their interactions anyway iirc
