Missing car

Is their a glitch? I had a car then its gone when the next time I logged in.

Did you check your sims inventory?

If your Sim uses their car a lot, or if, while playing your sim, you clicked on the car and made it their preferred vehicle, the car will often be found in their inventory, instead of on the lot.

Checked it was in inventory at one point when sim was at work, then I had saved game and was back playing it next day and it was gone. No car anywhere.

Did your sim recently get a new mate, or make friends with a kleptomaniac/thief? Sometimes, when one of my sims makes out with or gets married to another sim, the other sim suddenly starts driving my main sim's car, and I have to give everything back to the correct sim. As for the klepto's, who knows what could go missing.

Nothing like that no klepto/thief.

I noticed in university some roomate steal cars parked on the lot even if it is flagged as belonging to a specific sim, and as it is in their inventory it can't be recovered. I never noticed this theft in a normal world.

And I think a mod, overwatch, cleans the stray cars (and boats) when it resets the world.
There is a setting to avoid that. Took me years to figure which one but as usual I don't remember. Someone more enlighted and playing more regularly could tell you more about this

When one of my children aged up recently, I told his dad to give him driving lessons. Well, the kid took a joy ride around town with his dad's motorcycle instead of using his beat up old car that I gave him. I had to move everything back to the correct inventories and reassign the peferred vehicle status on everything, lol.
