It's unlikely, at best, that they'll ever go on sale. I haven't seen them go on sale in over a year-and-a-half. Whether they go on sale or not depends on EA, and EA's focusing all its The Sims attention on The Sims 4 right now. EA could care less about The Sims 3.

It's kinda unknown right now. Sure, we did have that sale a couple months ago. (Was it a couple months ago?) But even we're not sure if we may get a sale on DLC soon.

they go on sale on origin quite often, last sale was back in march all the expansions were half off

they rarely go on sale on steam
I bought the game with all of the good DLCs (I am not into supernatural things, so I don't bother with the Supernatural Pack). I recently decided that the Master Suite DLC was good enough. Since then I have been doing the same as many others are doing: waiting for a sale. I have been and still on the fence about the Fast Lane DLC. If anyone has any information on its worth, I'll be open to listening.

Haven't been messing with EA much have you? TS3 and its stuff used to go on sale during the seasonal sales (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall) with (very) occasional midweek madness or publisher deals. Since Steam and EA have more or less made up, EA has been trying to push TS4 and its newer Origin-only content. The best you can do is put the stuff you want on your wishlist and keep your fingers crossed. It does go on sale, but not nearly as predictably as it did before the grand reconciliation.
Cool, Cool. I've watched LGR before; somehow I missed this one. If you (or anyone else) is curious, I feel that my new decision will be that if I can get this DLC for $1.50 (or less) in American dollars, I guess I'll add it to the digital stack of DLCs I already have. Thanks, Annie!

Also, I see a slight grammatical error of my previous message "...and still on the fence..." should have been "...and am still on the fence..." or "...and still am ..." Oh well. Nevertheless, my point was able to get across. I am not a fan of grammatical and spelling errors and this dislike is multiplied if/when I am the one who makes such. Have a fun one and God Bless!

But that's just the problem; when it comes to the franchise, EA's focused solely on marketing the fourth game and have seem to left the third game fully in the dust. For more than a year, the DLCs for the third game have all been $20, not even dropping during the seasonal sales. If there's not even a price drop during the seasonal sales, chances of them dropping any time soon are not good.

This is about par for the course. TS2 players voiced similar gripes after TS3 released because EA did just about the same thing. I would not be surprised to find TS players griping about the same thing after TS2 came out, but that was a bit before I picked up the franchise. EA doesn't want to keep messing with back catalog stuff. They'll continue to sell it and you can still get a lot of their older games, but they hardly ever go on sale. I don't think they're averse to the money they could be making as much as they're averse to the technical problems that are part and parcel of older games. The thread right next to this one was basically "I can't get Riverview to load. Help!" and there's another about "I can't get the consignment store to work." And that's just in the past day or two.

SteamDB[steamdb.info] might help a bit, the future's kinda hazy but your best bet is checking back during any holiday or Steam sale[www.whenisthenextsteamsale.com]

they went on sale like three months ago. So it's still possible that they'll go on sale again during the summer sale.

I bought all the expansion packs on really good Steam sale ($5 each) a few years ago. Maybe 2018? I haven't been watching the sales since, but it's for sure possible.

Yes, but it had been at least a year or more since the last sale. It's just really rare to get a sale on Sims 3 items these days. Usually you'll see threads begging for them to go on sale just before normal Steam store sales, and then everyone will be waiting with baited breath, and we'll get nothing. This will happen over and over. Everyone will get disappointed, and then something will finally show up a year or so after the last sale.

I'm guessing their strategy is to not have anything from Sims 3 on sale when they are having any sort of Sims 4 sale.

Then prepare to never get it. DLC goes on sale, but it won't hit rock-bottom prices. Most you'll see is 75% off, bringing the price down to $4.99. That seems to be the norm. Although the last sale was only 50% off. Either way, you're never going to see Sims 3 DLC for $1.50 or less.
