How to make an infant sleep?

My two-sim household is now a three-sim household, due to the inclusion of a new baby. Said baby's energy level is currently at 1/4 full, and I would like to know how to get the baby to sleep. I don't see an interaction between parent and baby which would lead to that.

The baby should go to sleep on its own if on its crib, on the floor, or on a playmat from the Midnight Hollow toy making machine. If you want the baby to sleep more on command the only thing I can really think of is if you have a rocking chair you can have your sim hold the baby then click on the rocker to get the option to rock the baby or toddler.

Yes, but the baby's energy has to be low enough. I think about 1/8 energy is where they will go to sleep as soon as they are put in the crib. If they are on a bare floor, they will cry a very long time and completely deplete their energy before falling asleep. If you keep them busy on the floor until their energy is completely depleted, they will still cry for a good while, but will eventually fall asleep.
