Waterproof simbots
Is there any mean ( cheating or whatever) to make simbots able to survive under the rain, at least for some seconds ? I gave him an umbrella but each time he does something he puts it away and it is an instant freeze.
And to make things worse he works as a firefighter, meaning he is always outside. The rain does nothing to the fire but it shutdowns the simbot very efficiently.

I'll take any solution to fix this, except uncheck the climate because I installed the DLC for the climate.

You can pick and choose which parts of the climate you want. So you can turn off the rain, but maybe the snow will still get him. :) Anyway, such a hapless firefighter that works spewing water on things and shorts out when there is water anywhere, lol. :steamhappy:

Maybe he should try the private investigator, or the ghost hunter job. Those are fun jobs for my Sims.

Sims are not able to be out in the rain?

Regular Sims can. The biggest danger for them is dying from a lightning strike. However, the original poster is talking about a Simbot (a robot Sim). Robot Sims short out when they come in contact with water. They can be reprogrammed when they are repaired, and the reprogramming will reset their relationships with other Sims.

I, too, find the Simbots creepy. So far, all the ones I get are female, and they are always trying to find a male Sim companion to date. They are really kind of ugly, in my opinion. I keep trying to like them, as I enjoy having a lot of variety in my town, but the Simbots are the ones I just can't deal with. I wish they behaved more like actual robots that just do chores around the house, instead of like reskinned Sims that have feelings and such.

Sure, firefighter is a strange lifetime wish. Still better than lifeguard, though.
Normal sims only get soaked when they get out in the rain and they can use an umbrella to avoid it.

I agree, simbots are not as good as the servos in sims 2. it was a weird idea to make them hydrophobic and not fix it with seasons. In ambitions there was no rain, the simbots were not as annoying, they were even useful to tend the toddlers

I like the rain. Playing aurora skies reminds me of my childhood in færoerne with rain 360 days/year. Not much snow but cold rain everyday.

There must be something to do to fix this annoyance. I mean the annoyance with simbots, not the rain ;)

When I get a Sim with a lifetime wish that does not fit their skills, career, or personality, I usually use the lifetime reward that lets me change the wish. Problem solved! (For me and my Sim, anyway. I know some others like to go with whatever the game throws at them.)
