Sims 3 Riverview and store content

I have been playing Sims 3 Riverview on a computer that is barely a year old. I was having some problems with the computer (cheap one), so I bought a new one and installed TS3 but now, no matter what I do, I can't get Riverview to stick. I have tried everything I can find on Sims forums but most of those posts are old and nothing suggested has worked. I can launch the game from the Riverview download on a thumb drive but when the game loads, no Riverview. It shows up, along with other store content, on the download dashboard but I get an error message about my game not being up to date (it is) or that it's already installed.
The odd thing is, I have downloaded Union Cove and it works fine. Union Cove is not on the thumb drive but it still shows up in the new game drop down even though I launched the game from the Riverview d/l on the thumb drive.
Someone suggested it might be an issue with anti-virus software but that wasn't the problem.
Has anyone found a current solution to this issue? Please....

Riverview really needs to be installed from the launcher. The download dashboard should launch the launcher to install it, but that doesn't always happen as it should. So launch the launcher and check the installed content there to make sure that Riverview is showing as Installed.

Yes, I have done all that repeatedly. A couple of days ago I cleaned out everything related to Riverview and tried to d/l it again from the store through Chrome. No success. Then I tried to d/l it again using Edge and it worked....for a day. Yesterday it was gone again so I had to delete everything and d/l it again using Edge and I was able to play it. Today, same story but this time when I try to install, it says "success" but still not showing in the drop-down.

An old thread, but in response to your recent comment I did not have any problems with downloading Riverview. Apparently, some players might have a problem with downloading Riverview despite it being the only free world that can be downloaded from The Sims 3 store that does not cost any money, but I have not experienced any problems with downloading and playing Riverview. It is also listed as well as one of my playable worlds after I successfully downloaded and installed it. While my comment may not be of that much help to you I am just making my point across that downloading Riverview and installing it does work for at least some players. Also, when I successfully downloaded and installed Riverview it was recent as well where I did not need to take any extra steps to make it work properly.

In fact, it's not only Riverview. When i try to install any content from the Sims 3 store, it install normally, and say that the installation was successful...but when I launch the game I don't see any custom content, and when I restart the game all the custom content list is empty...

Someone else mentioned from about a year ago to look for EA stores Patches. If you can find them and it works in helping you great. If that does not work or you can not find the EA stores Patches then good luck with finding a way to fix this problem. Wish there was more knowledge I knew to help you, but I am still fairly new to this game and did not start playing The Sims 3 until late January of 2022. And so, I have only been playing for about two months. I have learned some important things about this game and especially since I have spent a lot of time playing this game in the past few months, but I am still a newbie.

i can't download riverview even if i wanted to. on my compuiter that runs from linux, some of the launcher options don't work properly on proton and always crash the launcher which makes any attempt at a download in the game a wasted effort.
