Sell the microwave? They only need one oven, so either a stove or a microwave, not both. If they don't have an oven they can still make cereal and drink juice. I think they can have a can of soup also (It's been a little while since I've played this game).
If they have autonomy, they will get their own jobs.
If your first family becomes friendly enough with them, they will accept gifts. You can also invite them over so they can eat for free. Have a potluck party!
If you built the house yourself, you can use the free flooring and paneling on the walls. If the house was pre-made, you can sell the old paneling and flooring and put in the free stuff. Use free paneling on the outside walls as well.
They don't need a separate living room and kitchen, so no walls needed there. The only must-have walls and doors are for the bathrooms.
Bunk beds should be cheaper than single beds for the kids. If you want to get even cheaper, use sleeping bags instead of beds.
They only need the outside trash can. They don't need any trash bins in the house. Having inside trash bins only causes them to leave more trash out and use the bin and later empty it into the trash can outside. It's an added step for them. The few times they need to trash stuff, they can take it directly to the outside trashcan.
The cheapest lighting is a certain overhead lamp that I use for all of my new families. The game frequently uses the same overhead light for a lot of pre-made homes.
They will be happier if they have a window (anything cheap - no curtains necessary) and some other decoration (cheap painting, plant, whatever) in the house. However, I have started families without any of those.
Do sequentially-numbered saves (you should already be doing this anyway). If something goes wrong, keep reloading an old save until you figure it out. If any of your first family have high enough skills, they can teach some skills to the second family so they can get better jobs or get promotions faster.
With cheats is easier but beware that you must avoid having households with repeated names for it to work the best:
Use either this (for active households):
katching (gives 1000 simoleons each time)
motherlode (gives 50000 simoleons each time)
sethouseholdfunds <household name> <number of funds> (gives funds to selected household)
All codes will activate only after you use testingcheatsenabled true (to activate the testingcheats). Cheat window is activated with Ctrl+Shift+C
With mods is more complicated
Some wild flowers are worth 600. Ore can be smelted for increased payout but don't smelt iron, you will take a loss on that one. Gems can be cut by going to the alchemy shop they have a cutter there. Sell cut gems and powder residue.
Go fishing and or plant stuff, fish and crops can sell for quite a bit... way more than you need to get by. Basic bills stay pretty cheap unless you build huge and even then it isn't more than you could cover fairly easily.
then
so what i would recommend is evict H2 then go to edit town and then enter build mode on the empty house you want them to live in then add what you want to the house then active the freerealestate cheat and have that family move back into the house
