Yeah, I know. That's what I meant by going directly to the business in question. But what I want to know is will doing it that way fulfill the requirement for the wish, or does HAVE to be done via the computer?
But in all of this time (if you were actually playing your game which of course you might not be right now) you might have done a save (as) and tried it the lot command way to see if that fulfilled the wish. Seems like it should, I mean the end result would be the same in terms of still being a business partner. But if it didn't register that way, then you could quit without saving further and be right back where you were before.
A couple of cautions, however. First, I run a boatload of mods, so one or more of those might be affecting the game's behavior on this. Second, the game isn't real observant and will pop the "become a partner" or "become an owner" wishes even when there are no businesses left in town for you to invest in.
I guess it could be that your sim is already the owner of all possible properties in town so maybe they have to sell some off first. Or it might be a signal to the player that more ownable venues are required in this town.
Might potentially be a lot of work to satisfy one wish and not really be worth it all, sort of like the one where our sim wants to marry the sim to whom they are already currently married, but still seems like there should be plenty of ways to accomplish this. :)
