can i delete world caches (that are on the game folder not documents)?
each expansion pack installation have a folder that includes the world
path: The Sims 3\The Sims 3 Ambições\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds\Twinbrook.world

and at the same time a cache
The Sims 3\The Sims 3 Ambições\Caches\Twinbrook.objectCache

can i delete these caches or my game will be broken? (to be honest i don't want TEST it to have to reinstall it all over again just wishing to know)

i know the game generate a cache on the document folder for each world you play (store worlds only) and i was thinking if the vanilla worlds have a cache somehow then i found that but is that safe to delete to save some disk space?

General practice would dictate against doing so because there should be internal pointers that would then be pointing to a non-existent file. You wouldn't really save any drive space if you ever played the world again because the caches would just start rebuilding while potentially slowing down performance while they do so. Not sure if the game would actually break that way, although for what it's worth we know it would do so on the Documents folder world caches on the Mac version of the game. (not really relevant for Steam installs, of course)

Even the world caches in the Documents folder really shouldn't be deleted unless the player is troubleshooting something specific about them or really has no intention of ever playing that world again.

the only reason im wanting to delete then, its because i kinda just play one world mostly, and don't mind if it would generate again after, for example im playing a 6 generation family on starlight world (showtime one) since the caches are kinda big around 1gb each on my game it would save me around 6gb deleting then all except the world im playing, i would like to know if it would not break the game to delete then and keep just the showtime one and don't mind much if generate again if i would switch worlds just wanting to keep the world im playing really.

i know the documents one are safe, but im very worried about this "Cache" one on the game install folder

so from what i get you, if i delete then would then they would just rebuild again if i played that specific world? could you/someone confirm this? (not wanting to break my game to reinstall it :C)

tho to be honest 6gb would not make much difference in my system usage, its just a nitpicking kinda really.

I can't confirm that and am not sure anyone can. If the world caches within the Program File installation directories are deleted, that world might not be playable again because as I said that may leave pointers behind for the game to read from or write to a cache location that no longer exists.

just commenting in case someone wants, the game worked just fine with these cache deleted.... it did rebuild then but the intersting part is..... it rebuild then in the documents folder "World caches" instead of the game installed folder normally the normal game worlds don't appear on the world caches in the documents the folder where the file was originally deleted never filled up again it just filled the other place that normally it don't go there...... but worked just fine played over 3 hours and even travelled to china etc to test.... so i guess these files are just caches like the store worlds but they are stored in a odd folder for whatever reason.

it saved me around 6gb of space, and only the worlds i played/travelled did regenerate so its a good thing.
