What I'd try first is installing the Nraas ErrorTrap mod, and then load the game and see if anything can be worked out from there. https://www.nraas.net/community/ErrorTrap
One fix which cropped up a couple or three years ago was to (1) go into the family's lot and move anything you want to keep into family storage, (2) go into Edit Town mode and save a copy of the family to the bin (I forget whether that's with or without their house, but I'd go without since you already moved the important stuff), (3) evict the family to the clipboard, (4) place the bin copy of the family into the house (or another one), (5) return to game mode and keep playing. The downside of this fix is that all of your wishes and relationships with the rest of the town are gone, but the upside is that you still have your family with all of their stuff, skills, inventory, lifetime reward points, and that kind of thing.
If that or cruinne's suggestion of letting ErrorTrap go at it don't work, your only recourse is going to be to revert to an earlier save. You might have to replay a few days, but at least you'll have a working household and will know to say "no thanks" the next time the opportunity crops up.
