How to download custom houses into the game

Wanting to get some custom houses from the web into the game for my wife. Anyone know websites with files and steps to do it?

There are two ways, depending on how the files are saved, but let's go with the easiest: .Sims3Pack files.

1. You download the file.
   
   
2. (Usually but not always) unzip the filem and put the .Sims3Pack iteself in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sim 3 > Downloads.
   
   
3. Start the game Launcher.
   
   
4. Switch to the "Downloads" section.
   
   
5. Tick the boxes by the ones you want.
   
   
6. Click "Install", and wait it out.

Those intructions only work id the files are in that form. Sometimes you download a lot and it's in .package form. This file needs to be added to "Library".

I also recommend using Tumblr to finding new houses. Careful though, there's so many sites that off CC too. It's addicting!
